Bravo. You've got something the other ones don't : you've got taste. Discovering one of your works is always a pleasure. Thank you. Regards from France.
It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
It has been a pleasure to watch great craftsmanship at work. This tool chest will last a few lifetimes. Stay well and thank you for sharing. Ash from Scotland 🏴
Very nicely done! Now you know why a well made tooling cabinet is so expensive to purchase. It would be a good idea to put the castor wheels on with bolts to a pad welded onto the cabinet. Castors do break and the wheels get chewed up when rolled around the shop. Having them bolted on makes replacement much easier. Cheers from NC/USA
Nice job! I like your spacer tricks. Many years ago working with my father he told me the most accurate way to make many parts is not to measure. Then he introduced me to making from a known part. As long as you use a master part and only mark from it you will have consistent dimensions from it.
In the future, a quick and decent looking drawer handle can be made from just cut angle iron or U channel tack welded to the front of the drawers pointing down. It'll make it so you have something to slip your fingers behind when those drawers get nice and heavy. Bravo on the box, it is not easy to get those drawers in square enough to operate cleanly without interference!
Pretty good job - again. Every workshop does need something like that and of course with full extension drawers . Every thing need to have it´s own place, makes working much more efficient. Everytime nice and pretty satisfying to watch your work. Thank you & stay well.
Absolutely brilliant work, just amazing, I never thought of building a tool box/ organiser until now, thanks for the inspiration...........keep it up man
that sheet metal roller/brake would work even better if you cleaned off the rust. ★★★★★ - project ★★★★★ - execution ★★★★★ - workmanship ★★★★★ - music ★★★★★ - humor
Was considering building myself a new cabinet and was doing a YT search when I found this video. Nice work, both on the cabinet and the video. I like how the cabinet rolls itself into position at the end.
Simply beautiful craftmanship and aesthetic, I've just come in from my workshop for my afternoon cup of coffee where I've been having a staring contest with a set of drawer runners very similar to yours, hard to say who was winning. Thinking about exactly how I'll do it..that takes a while, so I plonk down with my cup of joe and flip on youtube for a brief browse, and look, your video is sitting in my feed waiting to be watched. Life is quite good on occasion.
Wow, now THATS built tough! Very nice job once again my friend. I don’t believe there’s anything you can’t build and build it right! That’ll outlive us all for sure! It’s always a pleasure to watch you create masterpieces! Thanks for taking us along✌🏼
Hi Thank you for the video My comment is that, you are welding every thing to every thing Screws will be better in case of repair It is a nice cabinet and you did a great job Thank you
@@artificialw0lf959 if you watch TOT's video's you will see him do comical stuff like cut a piece of steel in half with a karate chop....comical stuff and his editing is awesome. That said, Ca Lem's videos are awesome also.
Ca Lem, you do very nice work with everything that you do. Quality, quality, and yet more quality! As always, thank you for inspiring all of us! :) :) :)

Great project and well made. Really enjoyed the video. I person hate grinding and learned to bolt casters on and I had so maybe break off that a lot on makes changing them easy. To do rather then empty it all out to flip it over and grinding them off. Thank you for build
Beautiful work. The precision on this job is just amazing! This tool cabinet is probably better than any that money can buy (speaking of mass production)....maybe a Snap-On would be the same build quality.
Ca Lem that is one super-dooper cabinet man!! The fit and detail are phenomenal. It is a pleasure to watch your videos, as we never know what is coming next! And the humour in the vid is so you, I loved the opening sequence with the Beethoven Fur Elise in sync with the drawers opening and closing! That must have taken you some time to edit that sequence, and on top of that doing the joke with the sheet metal roller for the bending brake, that was so funny.! Keep them coming young man. I can see you becoming one of the very top TH-cam creators in a very short while. Good luck to you and if it is relevant Happy Christmas 2019 ( that's when I saw this video 16/12 /2019)
Being able to build one is fantastic for sure. But how does it compare to one that you can buy? Is it worth the effort? Were you able to save a lot of money by making a cabinet yourself?
I'm stealing that design, hope you don't mind, having worked for strong hold products in the past where I welded cabinets similar to this, I have to say that looks so much better then what we built. This Old Tony and Abom79 would be proud.
@@jonathann8104 oh absolutely, strong hold is amazing, literally when I say they are handmade that is not a joke. I mean on kanban products like you all probably have they have robots that do the doors but that about it. But I worked on the custom line and everything was bent and welded (which I did) by a person and checked multiple times. The lasers are the only real thing that does autonomous work for us. They got one machine before I went back to the aviation world, that would bend our shelving and some drawers right before I left but were still working out the bugs, strong hold is in my opinion still the industry leader in storage solutions. Pricey but worth it. But Ca Lem's cabinet I have to say put my work to shame.
@@jonathann8104 I have still connections there, as soon as they do another employee sale I'm picking up a couple for myself. @ Your projects are beautiful enough that you might consider doing after-the-fact plans, even if you prefer not to work from them. I'll bet there's a lot of us that would shell out $10 or $15 or whatever, just for the chance to believe we'll build it one of these days. (I believe Jeremy Schmidt made a reasonable business in this way.) Besides any extra money it provided, it would also "leverage" your work - spreading more happiness from your design work. In any case, you're already giving the world a great gift by recording your work here, thank you.
@ If you make up a set of plans with very detailed measurements, you could sell it for a small fee, and make some money to buy more tools, equipment, etc. I look forward to seeing what you do when you start TIG welding!
Amazing welding skills. Spray paint finish would have been nicer, but you have to work with what you have. Great job. If you sold this cabinet in Canada, you would pay at least a 2000$.🇨🇦
I’m sure you already know this (or maybe you don’t) but your welder sounds like it’s setup to flood the weld with shielding gas after the arc has stopped to keep it from oxidizing. It’s why you hear that “hiss” sound after every weld tack. Using a lot of gas unnecessarily. If that’s intentional, keep on keeping on. If not, fiddle with your welder to turn that feature off, you didn’t really use it at all.
Bravo. You've got something the other ones don't : you've got taste. Discovering one of your works is always a pleasure. Thank you.
