3:40 - Preferences > General > Quickcapture Default > Set to last used & it'll take whatever last settings you had and record with it. I also change default mode > last used. Then Everytime I turn the camera on the settings are the same.

The most impressive part is the audio. I had a Max for my paragliding business. You could clearly hear the conversation i had with my passenger at +35kmh winds
Now that is next level!! I’ve barely tested it under such extreme conditions but that sounds incredible!
Hello, my name is Greg from Denmark . Is this camera good for underwater ? Also does it do the same as a normal hero camera ?
@gregpeterpatrikios hey Greg thanks for the comment! It maybe wouldn’t be my first option for underwater as you need a special housing for it just to use it! Depending on what you need a normal Gopro should do the trick for you

Just noticed the error about quick mode and hero setting. 100% you can set quick capture to default to 360 mode and not hero mode.

I think people are trying to stay GoPro loyal as they were the ones that changed everything, I think the max is still great it’s lighter than the x4 and plenty good for social media. Sales will slow on all of them as people just borrow them as a lot have a GoPro laying in the drawer, the best thing Insta have done is you can use the latest ones as a dash cam as well, the new max may be out this year and go pro have bought a helmet company I think to integrate their cameras inside so they may hit the market from a different angle, 8k is not really needed it’s all about the bit rate, Insta is so tempting but I’ll wait

One thing Andrés de Castro in the video gets wrong the quick capture (if not set to default) can engage 360° video recording with 1 push of the button.

The max (and especially the unlimited cloud uploads even 5 hour videos plugged into a power bank) is mind-blowingly incredible ❤
I have a MAX too, and it overheats. I am currently trying make the heat management bearable for the camera. I don't need to film 5 hours although I have a 256GB SD.
@robertkiss2350 that's very interesting that I haven't had overheating issues myself. Here is a funny test for you. If you take out the battery and plug a USB C cable into the wall, if you press record with the battery cover therefore open, does it record for at least an hour without overheating?
Hi 👋 great video, I film my son cycle racing and he posts up on his TH-cam channel though when it is sunny he gets a lot of sun glare filmed in hero mode. Can you suggest a setting or a filter cover though I can’t find one for the 360
Hmmm that’s very good question! I’ve still not found any filters for the gopro max, I know some people use a film to cover the lens and make the image darker but I don’t know how well that works!
@@DeCastroCuts thank you for the reply, will have a play with settings. I have seen if you press the screen boxes appear and you click the tick and it sets the settings right for that brightness or if dark. Can’t think what it is called. I’ll try that.

Thanks for the video. My onlu question is about a safety wrist strap. I mean, I want to take a gopro max to snowborad but if the stick slides from my hand I'll lose my camera?
Thank you!! Yes if you’re snowboarding I would 100% use a strap just in case as with the gloves on you have even bigger chances of it slipping, I’ve seen loads of people mount it on the helmet with an extension pole, and the angle looks so so cool!
Nice video. We attached the Max to the back of an ATV with the camera facing forward, the video looks great. As an example the camera was facing north towards the front of the ATV. When we turn left, now facing west, the camera is facing west along with the ATV but the video is still facing north and we have to scroll to get the image facing the front of the ATV. Is there a setting that will keep the video facing the front of the camera without having to scroll?. Thanx for the info.

I have hero 12. I’m planning to change it to Hero max. What do you think?
Hmmm it’s a little bit of a tricky one! Because the 360 has a very unique style to it I would personally still keep the hero 12 and add the Max as an occasional one, just because filming ALL the time in 360 can be a little overwhelming, thanks for the comment! Yo boss there is in the setting to use default always @ 360 video mode every time u press button and even u turn it off and turn back on you can default it to 360. That’s what I have on mine 💪

Hi! Just wondered - i am using gopro 7 atm. And i use gopro in headstrap and do martial arts.. So this would give quite nice view and better quality :)
Hey! Yes the gopro max would be much better to capture martial arts as when you’re moving you can still capture everything if the camera is standing still, plus the quality improvement you’ll see is very noticeable

@@DeCastroCuts first of all, I want more interesting travel videos, my wife & I travel to Greece as often as we can, and we love water sports, but also hiking and zipline rides.
I saw some really cool zipline videos with 360 cameras.
I am a GoPro fan, not really “fallin’” for the Insta360 hype, even though X4 is out, and it has 2x 4K camera, it is too expensive!!!
@Robertsson completely agree! I think the Gopro max would be a great addition to your kit, if you combine the hero 10 footage with the gopro max you could get some really cool shot, specially on the zip line it’s hard to film that. The insta 360 in my opinion just looks washed out and not very aesthetically pleasing, again just my opinion
Great video, one thing I’m having a hard time with is the stabilization, I had a Hero 7 and that camera was amazing! Is there a specific setting for that in the Max?

I use Quick Capture to record 360 video so I'm not sure why yours records in Hero Mode... I suspect that Hero Mode works with the "last used" recording mode you had recorded with? I'd offer to check my settings but the camera is currently being replaced by GoPro through the Subscription service because I dropped it 🙈
Oh wow no way! And how is the subscription service going? A friend dropped his Hero 10 and found it a nightmare to get attended and fix it
@@DeCastroCuts I have to say that for all GoPros faults, the subscription/replacement service has been great. I had a faulty Hero 9 this year that was out of warranty, but because I hadn't made use of the replacement aspect of my subscription in three years they swapped it FOC and said they wouldn't count it against my two allowed exchanges per year!
Then when I dropped my Hero Max recently they again are replacing it but this time it will cost £140 which is still less than half the price of a new one. I don't use the cloud/online aspect of the subscription at all though.
I just bought the Max three days ago. You should be able to change the quick capture settings to start in either 360 or Hero mode. It was set to Hero mode as default, but I changed it to 360, and it seems to work every time.
I also purchased the subscription, and I've used the upload-while-charging feature for the last two nights. Already over two hours of videos uploaded to the cloud.
With the accident replacement ($99 per replacement in the US) and unlimited cloud storage, the subscription seems too good to be true so far, so I hope GoPro doesn't let me down.

Depends what you are looking for! They are both really really good but I would look at maybe what are you more interested in. What are you thinking to use it for?

Gopro is good at day but it is very noise at night.
Far behind from Insta 360 x3 and even more costly.
They are both exceptional systems Insta 360 does have better specs being newer but I personally still prefer the Gopro system

So... Its almost 2024 and you're recommending a camera from almost 4 years ago? Ok... That's almost pre historic now ! There's insta360 X2 and even X3 and even RS 1 inch 360 that are all superior... But ok
Yeah I know! The gopro max 2 is right around the corner but I’m just talking from my experience, I’ve tested the Insta 360 system, I’ve watched a lot of side by side and personally I’ve always been a bigger fan of GoPros colors, image quality… but if it’s pure specs you’re going for yeah it totally makes sense to go for insta 360.
Also I’m not getting payed to made this review so this is 100% only my opinion hahah
The X3 is not bringing anything significant over the GoPro Max, even though it is years younger. The capture resolution is virtually the same. The app is a lot less reliable than the GoPro Quik app. I am a long time user of the Max but I would not recommend it today... I want to see 4K potential in a reframed 360 clip, all of the current 360 action cameras are lacking sufficient image quality. I have tried and returned the Insta360 X3 and Go 3, disappointed with both. The best thing about the Insta360 range is their incredible and admirable marketing effort to persuade influencers to promote them.

Yeah I do agree with this, i really don’t get why the gopro mobile app won’t let you do overcapture in 4K, on desktop no problem you get crazy good quality but mobile you’re limited to the 1080p

Insta360 and vertical mode has been around for years and the GoPro Max copied that from them

dont ever put it under water without case or you will regret. my max ddnt even last a year. dont buy this believe me. get osmo action 3 instead
