I've been a jewelry artist for years but never used glass. I've done stained glass as well and now I want to combine the two and this was very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share. Much appreciated.

Thanks so much I've been search everywhere for info on this! Just started to solder was given an iron an spool of old solder that had a cloudy white look to it. Was wondering if I could still use it or if solder was too old to use.

When lead oxidizes it can produce a powdery white coating which requires careful handling. The age and conditions in which it has been stored will determine the amount of oxidation. The dust is easily inhaled and can pose health risks so personally, I would bag it very carefully and take it to your local hazardous waste disposal.
