Good to retell their stories but it is extremely harsh to say they are forgotten. All over the country there are memorials that commemorate those who came from all over the empire to defend the World from Fascism. There names are there for all to see next to our own.
Seems fascists are back worldwide. Seems the world really have forgotten about all of it. You are a rare exception, people this days have learnt anything.
They were treated like garbage after the war. Many them were disappeared by the government deported back to where they came from in some cases the families they had in the UK didn't even know what happened to them.
I am humbled by these giants and the many others who stood tall and endured so much to bring about the end to true evil . As long as i live they will nerver be forgotten ! 🇦🇺

There were NO “Singaporeans” then. They were Malayans. The term “Singaporean” only came after Singapura broke away from the Malayan Federation in 1965.

FASCINATING! My father was German and fought the Nazis in the British Army. It took all kinds of good people to fight the evil.
