What about some white feathers in the wing? A lot of racers that are not pied get that and it is random. Is it a version of the pied gene applied only on the wings? Also: what difference can you see between pigeons that have both pied genes and pigeons that only have a pied gene? It is certainly recessive because I get a lot of non-pied pigeons from pied parents.
Yes, "white flight" is pied that only impacts the flight feathers. There are MANY different pied genes, and most of them are unrelated to each other. I'll repeat it for emphasis, there are HEAPS of them. If you think about how many pied genes you know of, I guarantee there are more.
Yes, probably this is why there are so many patterns of how the white appears in pieds. Like the white feathers in the wing, some pigeons only get a few white patches on the head or just at the corner of the eye. There are also some subtle white areas in "non-pied" pigeons, at the base of the tail on the back, or sometimes lower on the belly and that doesn't look like 100% white as in a pied but just a discoloration of the grey. Sometimes I see bluebars in the race car that have a white tail, interesting stuff.
Hi Adam in a video I think it was last week you showed the individual breeding boxes at the last place you were living at you said a couple of the boxes were too small and the others too big what is the best size thanks
The boxes I'm using are fine for use inside the loft, but I find them too small for permanently locking pairs in. Id honestly suggest as large as you have room for when you're locking pairs in permanently.
A white pigeon, a young one has joined my local flock of pigeons, they are all feral... I was wondering who his/her parents might be, it's the first completely white pigeon that I see here in my neighborhood, so I'm guessing both of his/her parents must carry the White gene... Interesting. These birds never stop to amaze me❤
I have two white pigeons..at first i thought they paired up because they mate so many times...but now they split and they are not paring with other pigeons. Is there a pigeon that will never b paired up??
I have a pair of white rollers they both have pearl eyes and very little brown flecking on both of them could I pair up their sons/daughters with a homozygous grizzle to have whiter birds?
Great video sir . I have 1 pair all white bull eyes .then i have another pair cock white bull eyes and I have a white grizzle hen brown eyes . So does the white grizzle hen carry Recessive White?
Thr is a video on looking at the foot of the pigeon see if the outer toe is longer then its a cock but if shorter then its a hen, equal then its 50/50, i looked at my birds and its true.
Hi there sir... I would like to ask you a question... I have a pair of white pigeons... At first, I only keep them as sitters because they're very good taking care of my racing pigeon's eggs... Then I just noticed when they're ranging, from 20-almostan hour and upon returning home, I never, as in never have seen them, even for once showed of tiredness, as in... They look like they never flown for such a long period of time. Sometimes I flew them together with my other pigeons and boom, no stress at all while the others came back home grasping for air. Mind if you can give me an idea of why they're like that. I hope you get to read my comment... Thank you in advance... Have a great day 😊👍😎
All My white recessive have dark red eyes so i am also goin to pair my almond with one of my young hen white recessive n see what comes out. Good video red eyes r hard to breed thats true.
I have a extreme white dilute hand I put her on a black check white flights I'm planning to cross her son back to her but I wanted to put her on the darkest bird I have
@@AdamArcherPigeons I'll talk a wild guess and say they're talking about sexual chromosomes. Which actually... Yeah, ??? (Especially knowing birds and mammals don't work the same way there XD)

Interestingly, "tic-eye" (white in the corner of the eye) is closely linked to "dirty", a common darkening modifier.
As always, very informative. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Lee!
I feel like my IQ goes up every time I watch one of your videos 😂, thanks for all the info.
😅 thank you!
What you get with white and saddle
The only white pigeons I like! Are the white racing Homers!! 👍👍👌👌
Hi Adam. I have white racing homers. What can i use in thier bath water to take away brown mud stains on their feathers?
why my white pair produced one blue bar and one white?
I have a male ash red and blue bar hen. Why do they keep making pure whites if the dad is red and mom is blue ????
Interesting clip Adam, cheers
Thanks Jim
How to breed barlis bluebar
How do you make ash reds white if possible at all.
You need to include grizzle, and spread if possible, in the genotype

hi adam , i just want to know if white pigeons homing instinct is good ?
Colour has no impact on homing ability
My pair of check and black pigeon sometimes lay a white baby pigeon,
thats one way right`
Your birds probably carry the "recessive white" gene.
Hey! Not sure if you still see comments but I’m searching for dominant white and wondering if you know which breeds may have it in them
I'm not personally aware of which, but try the Genetics groups on Facebook and you'll probably find someone who has them
If you pear yellow to yellow will thay through white
Great info. Thanks for sharing your video.

Definitely worth a try!
Hi guru how do I produce a white bar bird?
Not easily 😬. You need a serious grasp of genetics, and a lot of time to get it right.
Thanks learning new stuff.
Merci pour les explications. j'ai appris des choses !👍👌
Also the homozygous form of the gene called "white grizzle" produces an almost white bird with coloured eyes and black beak.
@A.B.C Loft you'll most likely produce grizzles, who carry the recessive white gene.
😳 I won’t get at least one Recessive white hen ?
@@abcloft302 you can ONLY produce a recessive white if BOTH parents carry the gene. It's not enough for only one parent to carry it.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Great video sir . I have 1 pair all white bull eyes .then i have another pair cock white bull eyes and I have a white grizzle hen brown eyes . So does the white grizzle hen carry Recessive White?
If she is producing recessive white children, then yes she would carry the gene.
Can u make a video of how to tell the difference between a male pigeon and a female pigeon... please
Thr is a video on looking at the foot of the pigeon see if the outer toe is longer then its a cock but if shorter then its a hen, equal then its 50/50, i looked at my birds and its true.

👍👍
Hey Adam I have a black spread boy and a ash red hen one of the baby’s are white and the other is silver I have no clue why ???????
They must both carry recessive white
@@AdamArcherPigeons thanks I kinda thought so the white bird is much larger then his nest mate so I’m thinking both boys ?
I have a number of large white racers. They are beautiful.
Thanks adam for this video.
how to breed yellow pigeons?
How will I know if i have spread pigeons I have two pigeons that look like them but I don't know if they are
th-cam.com/video/dTffX9EJxK0/w-d-xo.html
Once. We paired a white pigeon with a blue bar and got... One white and one blue chick.....is it reccesive or dominant white gene in the parent bird
Most likely recessive, but it could be a dominant variety.
Please try to explain with chart to understand easily...thanks

Can I breed White pied blue bar Female bird to Recessive white bull eye Male bird to get White bird with coloured eye?
No. You need to use grizzle and ash red.
Adam, I have seen a white pigeon in a flock of wild blue bar pigeons. Can a white pigeon evolve from a flock of wild pigeons?
Most flocks of wild pigeons have domestic origins and its common to find all sorts of mutations in them.
What if I have white and wanted darker coloured pigeons how do i do it??
Breed it with a pigeon that doesn't carry depigmenting genes 👍
Do the opposite.
If I have a white pigeon with dark eyes and breed it with a almost all white grizzle will I get offspring with colored eyes?
Likely but not guaranteed, it depends on a lot of factors.
hello from Russia интерес very interesting information, thanks for the Russian translation
I personally prefer all white pigeons with colored eyes over the bull eyed variety.
Yea they are nicer, just harder to breed.
Well how did u breed them?
very informative
The white fantail 🤍🤍🤍
All My white recessive have dark red eyes so i am also goin to pair my almond with one of my young hen white recessive n see what comes out. Good video red eyes r hard to breed thats true.
Could I also pair up two heterozygous grizzle pigeons and could they produce some homozygous grizzles?
Yes 🙂
Really nice!💥 Greetings from Poland! How many different types of birds u have? 😁
Hi Mate,I was wondering can I get White young ,,By breeding A pure White cock bird with black eyes,Too a pied Meilie hen..
It's possible but not guaranteed. There are too many different white and pied genes to be able to accurately know how they interact together.
I have another hen she's White with yellow specks around the neck and head area,Will that be a better option ..
@@AdamArcherPigeons looks like the one you have in that picture, she has the red eyes aswell..
@@KostaXen it is easier to post on pigeongenetics.com/forum and I'll take a look

Yes, I agree. I just got two silver, one opal and a black saddle and would love to understand more about breeding and genetics.
Good
What should I do next when I get the mating off the Son and the mother
