Man these colors are so great! Awesone shots! I've been noticing that Panny footage is easier to make look "natural" than XT4 footage, which i see you also shoot. The XT4 lends itself to a stylized look while the panny S5 & Gh5 are easier to mske look nice and vivid but still seem more natural. Am I on to something?
you are right. The Pana S5 has a more natural look, especially on skin tones. The X-T4 has a bit more filmic look if you shoot with the Eterna profile. But if you are shooting in F-Log or V-log, you get similar results with both cameras
WOW! Such a nice video. I used to own the XT4 (loved it) but sold it for the S5 and I am very pleased with the camera. Its so versatile! I really like the Font you are using, which is it?
In terms of color grading, both the S5 and XT4 are easy to grade with V-log and F-log. I prefer the F-log footage from the XT4 as the grain in high ISO looks better than the V-log. The XT4 can shoot All-Intra internally, which makes it easier to edit on Premiere than Long GOP on the S5. But I prefer using the S5 for filming as I didn’t get overheat warnings when shooting 4K 60p.
Did you add grain in the colouring? I couldnt help notice quite a bit of it throughout on the blacks. If its artistic thats cool, if its not it is surprising seeing it in scenes that seemed to have ok light. Very interested to know. I am looking to upgrade from my GH5 & G9 due to low light ability.
The handling and ergonomics are very similar to the Panasonic G9. The IBIS is effective like the GH5, much better than the Sony A7III and A7c. I didn’t have overheat issues when filming 4K60p, the Fuji cameras will have overheat issues. As for AFC, it’s not responsive and fast, but it’s slightly better than the GH5 and G9 when you shoot at 30fps or 60fps. Battery life is good too. I mostly use vintage lenses on the camera so I can say the IBIS is really more effective than Sony and Fuji cameras
I render and export the video as Prores 422 HQ, but it seems like TH-cam will compress it so I guess it makes no difference whether you export the video as ProRes or H264 TH-cam on Premiere Pro. For bit rate, I set to 45Mbps for 4K upload
The S5 has much better IBIS and it can shoot 10bit video internally which is much better for color grading. A7C has more responsive and smoother autofocus in video, better battery life and more lens options. Personally I use manual focus for video, so I prefer using the S5 for serious filmmaking
Yes I agree the GH5/G9 has better IBIS for video, and the GH6 is probably even better. If you are shooting mostly handheld and doing lots of walking and panning shots, the GH6 or the new OM-1 should be the better option
I deliberately use high ISO from ISO 4000 onwards, to see how high ISO looks like. When shooting in 4K 60p on the S5, the video will be cropped 1.5X, so the noise will look more obvious when shooting in high ISO
If you don't put the lady who has the back issue in the footage, your video is great. As a movie maker, we don't want to show someone who is still suffering in her life to the public without her consent.
This is a great cinematic film work and a great colour grade
just wow 😮😮😮 what a texture
wow this is art! great video and grading loved it Chris.
Greetings
thank you for watching!
Hey, great mood, what is that music ?? Its really great :0)
とても素敵な映像ですね。
One of the best cinematic videos what i saw good job 😊😊😊
just wow, what grain is used? any luts? love to use it
Really nice video and atmosphere. I have been to Hong Kong many times and looking forward to visit it again.
Thank you for this short film.
Thank you for watching! I will shoot more videos of Hong Kong and make more films!
Great videos. I see you now use Fuji more. Do you still use the Panasonic S5 some?
I mostly use Fuji now, as the camera body/lens combo is lighter to carry everyday for both photo/video shoots
Hi chris, what a great shot.
But i do wonder how the lens perform at 60mm ? Are the background bokeh comes out great at a close objects ?
Very nice! What kind of autofocus did you use?
I mostly use manual focus
Looking forward to seeing more from.you
Thank you for watching! More cinematic vlogs coming soon!
Does the Nikon 105 AIS have autofocus
Great work. Keep at it!
Thank you! More videos coming soon!
Great work.
Amazing! Beautiful! :)
Thank you for watching!

so good! What nd filter did you use?
The quality of the footage is really good!
The Panasonic S5 can shoot 10 bit internally so that’s good for color grading in post.
Are you going to try and use the Panasonic S5 8 bit
Would you ever try the 8 bit codec on the Panasonic S5 to see how much great footage you could get out of it
great cinematic
thanks for watching!
Love the first shot, did you shoted it with the ibis on even you were moving or did u use the electronic stabilize?
Great work :)
Cool video
WOW! Such a nice video. I used to own the XT4 (loved it) but sold it for the S5 and I am very pleased with the camera. Its so versatile! I really like the Font you are using, which is it?
What editing program did you use
Hii. I saw to much grain on shadows. Did u add any film grain overlay ?
Nice video! Did you shoot the video with a stabilizer? It looks so smooth.
I shot this video handheld, the IBIS is very good on the S5
thanks for video
this is sooo goood man!
Thank you for watching!
amazing, very well done :)
Thank you for watching!
beautiful 香港
Great video man! I have a questions, some shots are very noisy, you adding grain at post production? Thanks in advance
Thanks for watching! Nope, those shots were shot in high ISO, about ISO 4000 to 8000. There's no grain added in post.
love it I am ready buy Lumix S5
The S5 is a very good camera! Use it with Ninja V or Blackmagic you get to shoot raw video with it!
To use the Nikon lens use any adapter, its very impressive how the Lumix S be like the Nikon.
Really nice work! How did you use the Nikkor 105mm with the Panasonic? Is there an adapter?
I use the Nikon F to Fujifilm X mount adapter, you can get cheap 3rd party from Amazon
What's the music?? Song is so good!
Found it :) th-cam.com/video/W9hFqvea2c8/w-d-xo.html
Delightful
Love this!
Thanks for watching!
Did you add noise in post or why is it so noisy?
Nice Hong-Kong
Can you tell me where the hair salon in the middle of the video is?
hello, the hair salon is located at Yau Ma Tei. I did a documentary shoot for this traditional hair salon,

This looks really cinematic! Do you prefer the image over fujifilms?
In terms of color grading, both the S5 and XT4 are easy to grade with V-log and F-log. I prefer the F-log footage from the XT4 as the grain in high ISO looks better than the V-log. I would like the Panasonic gh5s and S5
You filmed this just using the kit lens?
I also use the Nikon 105mm F2.8 and Pentax 85mm F1.8 lenses for the portrait shots
It's a great video. What kind of lut did you use? Tell me about the color.
I don’t use LUT. I color grade the video using FilmConvert and grade it from scratch.
This is file blog??
What lut of film convert did you apply?
I use the KD 5213 Vis3
Loved it
Thanks for watching!
@@movichris do you use manual focus on street or scenic videos like this?
@@imranalijafar I always use manual focus and focus peaking when I use the 20-60mm lens and the vintage lens to film shots like this video
@@movichris perfect
Really nice. Did you use at 20mm a lot?
Did you add grain in the colouring? I couldnt help notice quite a bit of it throughout on the blacks. If its artistic thats cool, if its not it is surprising seeing it in scenes that seemed to have ok light. Very interested to know. I am looking to upgrade from my GH5 & G9 due to low light ability.
I deliberately use high ISO from ISO 4000-8000, that’s why there’s visible grain/noise on the blacks.
@@movichris appreciate the response. What is the overall experience been like with the camera?

whats the song?
What lens did you use to shoot this video?
I mainly use the Nikon 105mm F2.8 Macro AIS lens, with an adapter Nikon F to L mount
is it full frame 4k?60p? or any crop?
There's a 1.5x crop when shooting 4K 60p, no crop at 4K 24,25,30p.
Hats off bro your work is really amazing ❤️🔥🔥. May I know your render export settings... like format and bit rate etc.
I render and export the video as Prores 422 HQ, but it seems like TH-cam will compress it so I guess it makes no difference whether you export the video as ProRes or H264 TH-cam on Premiere Pro. For bit rate, I set to 45Mbps for 4K upload
@@movichris very useful thanks
If you shoot 4k60 and you are using less than 24mp of the sensor are you bound to see more noise as a result?
Yes there’s more noise when shooting in 4K 60p since there’s a 1.5x crop
S5 and A7C which is better for video?

Did you use a gimbal ?
No, it’s all shot handheld. The IBIS is very effective on the Panasonic S5
@@movichris waouh. Insane!
That warping / glitching from the stabilization is a deal breaker.. GH5 / GH6 never did that... :(
Yes I agree the GH5/G9 has better IBIS for video, and the GH6 is probably even better. If you are shooting mostly handheld and doing lots of walking and panning shots, the GH6 or the new OM-1 should be the better option
