  • This video is about understanding a basic hydraulic system using transparent components. It is meant to show viewers the internal working and how oil flows through the system.
    For more information on this and other fluid power topics please check out my book published by American Technical Publishers (ATP).

    thats a good way to show how the system works. The hydraulic system is used in many fields of industry. we also use it for our concrete block machines.

    Why do drawing of hydraulic systems show one hose as high pressure and the other as low pressure going to cylinder, when actually they which being high or low depending on rod position?

    Hi, I'm a technical institute student at Hydraulic systems technology , how can I figure out the latest things in my field,

  • @redsite001
    @redsite001 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wouldn't that system heat up the pump and oil because it's being forced to bypass constantly if the operator isn't continuously switching directions? For example a log splitter, if you stop to load up a log, the machine would be running at peak pressure until you pull the lever

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. there are a number of ways to get around what you are talking about. But know that if you size everything correctly it will pump won't overheat. the easiest why to over come the heat problem that you are talking about is to use a tandem center 5/3 DCV. But there are a couple others.

    KletteTech We had a new clay pigeon throwing machine installed. It is hydrolic actuated. I said that the fluid only flows when the machine cycles.
    I got some pushback when a guy said "NO . . . when you turn the motor on the fluid flows". I argued "that's not how it works". I don't have a need to
    be "right" but having some basic experience (VERY BASIC) I thought that there was a valve involved to allow the fluid to FLOW causing the motion.
    I'm asking for some clarity here and please don't be too technical.

    • @KletteTech
      @KletteTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on the pump. If the pump is fixed your friend is correct. If it is a variable piston pump than the motor can spin without creating flow and you would be correct. You should inviting me shooting sometime and we can see which it is. hahah

    It's amazing how the question I have is never answered by anyone anywhere. The question I have been trying to answer all day is how does the gas engine power the hydraulic system. Virtually NOTHING on it. They all do what this video does right here--"I have it connected to my pump." Yeah? And?
    I found one video that talked about a hydraulic flywheel that evened out the power coming from the engine. I'm kind of filling in a whole lot of blanks from there.
