    This was an awesome interview! I’m so happy I ran across this. Im a college student studying psychology and I just finished a semester yesterday, which was my last exam for this semester. I woke up thinking about school and decided to look on TH-cam to satisfy my curiosity… And I found your channel. I’m so thankful that I did. Your channel is very inspiring. Keep the content coming. You’re definitely very motivating 💪🏾

    How can we encourage black men to study psychology?

    • @philsguidetopsyd
      @philsguidetopsyd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s such a great an important question! I believe it takes a collective effort to educate and inspire communities. But by being an example, mentorship, and empowerment, I think those are valuable steps in inspiring others to embark in this profession.

      @@philsguidetopsyd That's so true. Who did you look up to growing up in relation to psychology related field because it's difficult to find black men in the field of psychology? There's this analogy of when one enters the elevator and he or she reaches where they wanted to reach they should press the button to ground floor since there'll be someone waiting for the elevator on the ground floor.

      @@philsguidetopsyd Women are naturally nurturers

      Yeah I didn't have any Black mentors or role models in the field of psychology as I was pursuing it, that's why it was important for me once I got into grad school to find those mentors. Great analogy I totally agree!
