As a gay man living in Ghana and I have faced death threats, I always live in fear, and knowing I won't be accepted in my country breaks me because this is what I might face all my life. Unpopular opinion: Aren't pride parades bad? Ok, hear me out, I'm all for the LGBTQ+ community. They deserve to be loved as much as every cis, straight person. But if we're trying to normalize LGBTQ+, shouldn't we just treat it the same as being cis or straight? Like I've seen a lot of books where the author litterally milks the fact that the main characters are gay, instead of treating them like normal relationships. I've been introduced to people, and the first thing the introducer says is "he's gay, she's bi". Like, ok, you can tell me what their correct pronouns are, but why their sexuality, that isn't a personality trait...? Ok, Pride can be a wholesome celebration of love and acceptance for gender and sexual minorities (as in the freedom to love and be attracted to ppl of the same sex), but what’s irksome specifically about the PARADE are the groups and individuals who walk around naked, acting obnoxiously sexual, and who promote their wild fetishes - these things are better off private, not flaunt around in public, doesn’t matter what gender or sexual orientation...it’s f*cked up, especially when there’s families and children around. Many ppl avoid Pride because they don’t want to be associated with this debauchery. As a gay man living in Ghana and I have faced death threats, I always live in fear, and knowing I won't be accepted in my country breaks me because this is what I might face all my life. I sometimes contemplate suicide. Seeing this kind of video makes me happy and sad at the same time. I wonder why i was born in a homophobic country I pray I get my freedom to live freely and to be myself.🏳🌈
Come to canada. Or move to europe or other LGBTQ friendly nations. There are so many ways to even get citizenship over here. We are a very open and accepting society. Wish you the best.

It's a point based system here, if you have good IELTS score, a degree, less than 28 year old, you will have a good score. After reaching here, you can search for jobs. Else, the best route is to study in Canada. You can check online about immigration. Trust me, people even come in as refugees, stating you are persecuted in ghana for being gay and later obtain PR. But, that is risky though. I wouldn't recommend. You can simply search online, there is government websites that will guide you to come settle here.

Ok, hear me out, I'm all for the LGBTQ+ community. They deserve to be loved as much as every cis, straight person. But if we're trying to normalize LGBTQ+, shouldn't we just treat it the same as being cis or straight?
Like I've seen a lot of books where the author litterally milks the fact that the main characters are gay, instead of treating them like normal relationships. I've been introduced to people, and the first thing the introducer says is "he's gay, she's bi". Like, ok, you can tell me what their correct pronouns are, but why their sexuality, that isn't a personality trait...?
I can't speak for LGBTQ+ community, because I'm only questioning myself right now, but in order to normalize the community, shouldn't we stop treating sexuality/gender like some special thing that has to be celebrated?

Yeah exactly, I'm currently creating ideas for a show/comic and one of the things ive done is that all the main cast is lgbtq but it's used for actual plots and jokes ( such as ace character being confused why her friend is obsessed with a "bad" girl)
Oh and they have rivals, which is 2 dudes that dress like they're a 40 year old married couple who have children, but are only in their 20s and they live alone in a huge mansion and never mention theyre a couple and instead are said to master and butler ( but the butler is terrible at doing his job so you wonder why they even stay together)

1) one would think that in our hedonistic, progressive postmodern, anti-religious culture, the Bible would not be taken seriously and yet the opposite seems to be case should anyone dare quote from it.
2) I would have made the point that if people want to disregard a quote from the Bible, why would they be so upset and even belligerent towards someone who chooses to do so?

4) no one was coming out in the 80s and 90s, waving rainbow flags declaring " I am loud and proud to be gay"! Especially when tens of millions of mostly men were dying horrible deaths due to the AIDS virus.
5) the Bell and Weinberg research showed that love and monogamy had very little place in the homosexual culture which was the clever strategy used by the gay lobby to bring into law, same-sex marriage.
6) according to WHO there are 37 million people living with aids/hiv today. it is said to be one of the leading causes of infant mortality in third world countries.
7) if morality is doing no more than what is fashionable in some culture at some point in history, then most forms of sexual "expression" such as polygamy, underage sex and marriage, incest, bestiality, and even paedophilia could c.laim to be "genetically" based, right?
8) On whose authority can we say any or all of these abberant behaviours are intrinsically immoral or evil?

Ok, Pride can be a wholesome celebration of love and acceptance for gender and sexual minorities (as in the freedom to love and be attracted to ppl of the same sex), but what’s irksome specifically about the PARADE are the groups and individuals who walk around naked, acting obnoxiously sexual, and who promote their wild fetishes - these things are better off private, not flaunt around in public, doesn’t matter what gender or sexual orientation...it’s f*cked up, especially when there’s families and children around. Many ppl avoid Pride because they don’t want to be associated with this debauchery. Media also tends to put a spotlight on these extreme aspects of Pride, which makes ppl feel disgusted about the parade and perpetuates negative perceptions of LGBT ppl as a whole - if anything it creates more hatred
