Funny enough when I started to listen to this I actually believed I would never go to college to get into my dream profession. Today I am almost finished with my BS and am already a tutor seeking to go to at least masters for getting into teaching. This was right after my dad passed away which was why I delayed college.

They knew I was having a rough time for being a kid, and they knew I have depression, and even though we shared very different religious beliefs, they didn't judge me, they cared about me truly. I can't imagine how this song must've made them feel, for them to recommend it to me. You really don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Yesterday a guy i went to school with took his life. He left behind family, friends, and his son who is only three if I'm not mistaken. Ever since I found out last night, I've felt completely shattered. Him and I were friends in school, but not long after we graduated, we stopped talking. Life took us to different places. He had a kid, I got married, and we lived completely different lives. The last time I saw him, I didn't even say hello. We just smiled at each other and walked in different directions. Then last night I get the news that he took his life and that he had been struggling with depression for so long... my heart is broken. He was troubled, yes, but he was a good person. He just took the wrong path in life and didn't believe there was a way out of it... RIP Forrest... You will forever be missed.

This song was almost me. I was in a horribly relationship that was so abusive. I drank myself stupid. I stole a gun from my ex's safe and planned my death day. I wrote my note and was ready to say goodbye. But I am so grateful my best friend came back into my life around that time after my ex pushed them out. Therapy, plus their support, and helping me move into a safer place I can finally say I have the will to keep living and wont allow myself to ever feel that weak over somebody ever again. My self worth is higher than that. 3 months after all that my best friend became my boyfriend, and we've been together a year and a half. He is helping me to heal and not be so scared of the world. He's so amazing, and taught me that I can also be amazing and stand on my own.
