A few of us got together and contacted a company, took one of our bikes to the factory so they could take measurements, and now they've become one of the only companies who produce steering dampener systems for the victory octane

@@ryan2546 dude i had a 6.7 with the g56. The g56 trucks are detuned to protect the trans/clutch. Cold air intake makes zero difference unless you tune the truck.

How is that going back on his word? They fixed the issue since the kit was made which is exactly what a company should have done and they reached out to him to make sure he knew they were taking it seriously... Grow up
GixxerDad 600 : The fact that he did not demonstrate what RC had done to the kit to ensure the quality was addressed is the issue. It's fine to say that the company reached out - as they should have - but the proof is in the puddin'. RC should have sent him another kit to review with the changes they made. Then he could have endorsed the company if the changes appeared to fix the issue. We as consumers need to have aftermarket parts that are as good (or better) than OEM. After all this lack of quality could be a deciding factor between life and death.
As he mentioned at 3:40 in his video - "get that kit fixed" - where's the fix? BTW: being able to post my opinion and thoughts is called freedom of speech, and if you are going to post concerns publicly about a certain manufacturer - then back-it up! He was able demonstrate the inferior product in his original video, but lacks to do this in this update. Hence, the reason for my comment.
2nd I agree 💯 he was either sponsored or threatened.....because in my experience of dealing with RC has Never been good because they always try to find fault in ur sets and they should be better then OE because we pay way more than a OE would cost

My buddy and I bought a 3.5 “ from RC. He put his on and the rear end sagged. ( Ram 2016 sport) they sent him a upgrade kit and it was ok. I asked them to send me that kit because we have the same truck. They said no!! He said install the kit if it sagged he would send me the upgrade. So he wanted me to pay for the install, order the kit then bring it back to the shop and pay to have it installed twice. FUCK RC !! I told him Will order from the competition...... He said sorry, can’t help you.

I had a 5” rough country on my 14 Silverado 1500. I didn’t wheel it or do any trail driving. It was purely for looks. And it was fine. But that being said. I wouldn’t be doing any kind of off roading with a rough country kit lol

When you talk to RC again maybe you could ask why the springs on my Jeep TJ were 4 different lengths after the first time out. Or why the shocks blew apart inside of 5k miles. RC may have the best price. Thank God they're cheap because it's easier to swallow the bill on a quality replacement lift. RC=never again

I’ve had a 2015 Ram 2500 with a RC 5 inch and 37’s and another Ram 2500 just like it with BDS and you could not tell the difference. If I could pick one it

Here’s the difference between an ‘influential youtuber’ to the average joe that nobody knows about: ‘average joe complains, get brushed to the side and told there is nothing they can do’. And don’t try and tell me differently, because I’ve dealt with wrong parts for lift kits numerous times from them and they never make it right.

Glad to see they changed your mind about them with a phone call. but their was no Mention on why the kit looks like it's not a 3 & 1/2 lift like the other kit you showed in the other video. Personally I trust a human weld over a robot. And I have seen more than 2 R.C. kits that have broken on a weld. It's all a gamble when building your street queen. Me I use my truck for what it was built for. And once I see something brake I change it out and more than likely I would not use the same company. ( trail rig's not street queens) dont be scared to scratch or get muddy.

I had a problem with a leveling kit of their's causing a weird noise to come from my carrier bearing. All it needed was a shim, but they gave me the same line. "We have never heard of anyone having that issue." When I checked about it on a forum a lot of others said they had called in about that same problem and Rough Country gave them a shim. Point is just tell me I need a shim and don't feed me a line about never hearing it before. I don't measure quality by some story you feed everyone.

Always good to see a company make it right! Had a beta test hypertec tuner that would not tune a dodge truck. The company just said we dont know why it doesn’t work and not going to spend the time to figure out why. Since it was the only beta test that failed.

Nathan Lawrence I didn’t get threatened tho lol people assume and it’s totally wrong. I made that other video they emailed me and asked for a phone call which I said sure! They told me what had happened and the steps they took to fix it they said they got multiple kits returned because of the video so like I said in the original video it’s not my place to rag on a company but when safety is at risk I said something. I told them I’d make a video to clear the air and in return they offered a tour of their facility and check out new products if I chose / was to ever drive down to Tennessee. I was not paid nor threatened.

@@ryan2546 heads up, my pivot ball backed itself out of the casing, stripped the threads on both the pivot ball and where it attaches to the bellhousing, bent the fork and toasted the throw out bearing and retainer. Going to see if standard transmission in fort worth can fix without needing a new housing.

Like any budget mind product:
Decent quality, average performance and serves the intended purpose.
Rough Country is a phenomenal customer service based company. Great guys to deal with and will make sure that the consumer is happy with the products.
Not everything is built in house and are subcontracted to other vendors but the quality control is honestly quite good.
I've installed, sold and use their products on my own daily driver. I have never been let down and because of that, will always praise them as a company.
And yes, I have sold and installed lifts from all sorts of brands since 2005. I've used all of their competitors kits and needed some sort of customer service and the guys at Rough Country tops them all.
Don't get me wrong, I like and installed other kits from other companies. Not a "new kid on the block"
BDS, Skyjacker, Superlift, Trailmaster, Rubicon Express, Kelderman, Rancho, Tough Country, Old Man Emu, Procomp, Fabtech, Calmini, and so forth. They all have their pros and cons, but Dollar for dollar, it's hard to beat RC.

Obviously the more expensive lifts would have a better build quality. But I’ve ran rough country on a few jeeps I’ve had and never had a issue that couldn’t be solved with a call to them.

Well I just had a 6 inch rough country and pre-loaded strut assembly and N3 all around and found out after I’ve only driven it 40 miles on the pavement that both front struts Are defective and rough country is saying there is no way it could be defective they’re only going to replace one of them but both of them are making the sound of a bad strut when I go over bumps and I paid $1400 to have this kit installed and now I’m screwed out of money an it’s bullshit! So.....

I had a 6" NTD kit on my silverado.. What junk..fell apart and thing didnt fit. Knuckles were drilled wrong, etc etc and then some..their customer service was garbage as well.. Wont ever buy anything from them ever again

The only reason they contacted you is to try and reverse the shade you threw on them by making that video. They're probably getting the shit made over in China, and trying to blame the broken welds on it being hand welded which is bullshit. Never bought Rough Country stuff and never will , always thought they were a cheap company. And as a welder myself I would never support a company that uses robots to weld and puts a welder out of work.

Weird to hear that your the only one to have welds break on your lift kit and they tell you it never happened before... I bought my 14 Silverado 1500 with a 7inch lift and and about a year after I’ve owned the truck I hit a pot hole and my driver side tire folded under my truck.. a weld broke and made the brake snap off, same on the passenger side. I call rough country and was told they can not do anything about it because I wasn’t the original buyer of the lift kit. Fucking bull shit!!
It happens to all MFG's. Ready lift use to have their lift kits build in Santa Ana CA (Elite) by cheap labor and un-experience welders, sometimes you get what you pay for.

Rough country sucks they made my 2019 rav4 kit and couldn't developed a bracket for my driveshaft because part of the lift was to lower my cross member in the rear
2002 chevy s10 all Ruff country junk just left my truck stranded 😫 down south lights ok but if u value your life don't do it hopefully I don't loose my truck
Rough country still sucks . My jeep wrangler cracks and makes all kinds of noise. Rough country never heard the horror story's from other customers. But I will never buy a rough country product again.
I bought a 4 inch lift for my 2003 ram 1500 5.7 quad cab 6 1/2ft bed and the shocks that came with the kit lasted about 6 months then I decided since the bushing were clanking in the shocks I would upgrade to the nitro shocks and the bushings didn't last 3 months their shocks are junk that's for sure and their 4 inch lift put my front axles at such a slant that it keeps tearing my driverside boot .. definitely going with a different company when I can afford a new lift kit :(
Honestly rouch country is for looks. Bottomline is you absolutely get what you pay for. RC is nice but give it a good 6 months hitting trails and you'll realize why it's some of the cheapest lifts you'll find. I'm not saying dont buy it, because you know, mall crawlers, but if you plan on actually offroading your vehicle, invest in good parts. Bilstein, toytec, kings, total chaos, icon; they're a pretty penny because they are built to last.
I thought the same thing me and my buddy both bought 4 inch lift kits for Budget XJ builds and it's been well over a year hitting the trails every other weekend at least in summer and winter and they haven't failed... We bought them they were so cheap and now they have outperformed some way more expensive ones that are friends have had so I can't hate but curious how much longer they can take big rocks and the trails before a failure
