- A narrowboat goes out of control and crashes on the Grand Union Canal. The poor boater got caught after passing us and lost control of his boat.
We leave Milton Keynes and visit the Wolverton Railway Works where the Royal Train lives.
We cross the Wolverton Iron Aqueduct and take a look at the disused locks down to the Great Ouse River before heading to Stoke Bruerne.

There's no need to worry about giving an unexpected wave. My old Dad only had one eye and other chaps would mistake his closed non eye for a deliberate wink. Back before our currently (slightly) enlightened personal freedoms, Dad would get lots of unexpected winks. He quite liked the attention. Maybe the fishermen like the attention too.

Cruised that way a lot when our share boat was based at Gayton Marina. Milton Keynes is lovely by boat. We love Stoke Bruerne, especially the Indian restaurant. Brought back good memories.

oh yes we go on the M1 regularly, trips to london for my medical treatment, from outside marple to london , takes us five hours one way but longer to get to central london then park at edgeware then get underground to euston , one hell of a trip both ways in a day ! we have two siamese at home ! otis is getting bigger now bless him x gosh love the silver statue ! i worked for the railway as a nurse and i had fabulous footplate trips , the gentleman drivers which is what they were if i left the clinic they would stand up until i sat down , fabulous manners but this went both ways , i loved my blue collar workers , it was a pleasure helping them ! great guys stay safe ! my love liz x

Here is a bit of unasked for information. I was on the Grand Union 10 years ago and met a man who had studied the aquadynamics of boats. He said that in days gone by narrow boats approaching each other would keep to the centre of the the canal and flick to starboard at the last moment. He reckons passing boats can't crash because their opposing wash keeps them apart. Overtaking boats are more likely to touch because they attract each other. Sean's strategy seems to work because the physics says it must.
I can 100% tell you that passing boats can and do crash 😂
Having sadly done this when I was young and reckless, I too can confirm that boats can crash into each other. So much for Physics!
Shaun you are Superman! You work so hard and you make it look easy! Colin is so lucky to have you. You cook, clean, drive, navigate, stear, analyze, psychoanalize and provide excellent company. You are Amazing! We also love how you look at Colin when he is talking gibberish! You guys are great together!
Colin spends 80 hours a week researching, filming, editing, planning, servicing the boat, also driving, shopping, accounts, answering the 1,000’s of emails, training Otis, managing the social media, organising the calendar design, sales, and postage, writing for Waterways Magazine, podcasting, organising the new boat project, setting up and managing the merchandising, Patreon and TH-cam Members pages, laundry, fuel and coal... All while trying to battle his demons.
I think a lot of people underestimate him.
