- Hey everybody! It's American's favorite new game show, "Is This Christian Nationalism?" The show where a bunch of lunatics have an insane and worthless fight about a concept that has no functional definition! Come play along!

"I covet the life of Job" is a great line
I want this on a tshirt with a picture of this game show host. Brilliant.

"Christian Nationalist" is up there with "Evangelical" and "Fundamentalist" as words that have no real meaning in modern discourse.
Ditto for “Misogyny”
And "racist", as well as "white supremacy", someone sent me a link from a few years ago where the left-wing British tabloid "The Guardian" argued that tea, the traditional English drink, is racist and "a leftover from our imperialist past", if fricking tea is an expression of racism and white supremacy, these terms have no meaning
Ya’ll need to read a book…yikes
@@JustinEimersTNT the key words are “in modern discourse”, on the lips of anyone other than a scholar of religion words like “fundamentalist”, “evangelical” or “Christian Nationalist” are nothing more than insults, similar to “moron”.
Think about it, according to John Spong, Pope John Paul II was a fundamentalist because he believed in the physical resurrection of Christ and the Virgin Birth. However, according to Richard Dawkins, Spong himself was a fundamentalist because he was an Episcopal bishop. Just how meaningless a word does “fundamentalist” have to be to be applied that broadly?
@@JustinEimersTNTReading books is a great thing to do, but not to the extent that you aren't paying attention to the way that the society around you is defining the terms you use.

😂 I'm laughing so hard that I missed most of the dialog during the second half of the video!
Going to watch it over again.
Granted I understand the point this piece of humor makes about the illogical guide of people blaming things on “Christian nationalism”. but I honestly couldn’t laugh at this for two reasons one is I’ve met people who believe these things and many of them are deeply broken and lost people especially boys and men and we as the church should step in and bring them into the love of Christ. The second reason is I find that although theology isn’t a overall negative thing to study or be interested in if we do not understand the death and resurrection of Christ not just Theologically but I’m the means of Christ and his deep love then we will never make a impact in the lives of those people and I find that being more religious won’t save us or help us reach others. We can’t be so self righteous into not helping the very people this video makes fun of or getting in the dirt with them.
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." 1st Corinthians 13:13
The third contestant may become a tremendous Christian if he can keep his zeal, yet repent from wrath and abide in agape. That is to say, selfless love. Despite having a great relationship with my father (love you Dad), I'd be lying if I said I didn't relate to the third contestant's anger at all. So, I ought to take my own advice, which I of course copy-pasted from the Apostles and the Church.
@@KnoxEmDown Repent from wrath or from his positions?
He's right about race-mixing.
5:07 Indeed, the Horseshoe Theory was real all along...
Christian nationalism is when faithful romaboos want the Imperium Christianum, but again.
This is the only definition I'll accept, because it has a real historical basis. 21 centuries of Christian romaboos did it, or died trying.

Freedom From Reason Front (FFRF) just declared Billy Graham a Christian Nationalist...🤦♂️

"And we're sick of you already."
Exactly.
Thank you for this! I only learned the term a few years ago when I was asked if I agreed with “Christian nationalism” and I was like… “Uhhh, show me the manifesto and I’ll tell you if I agree.”
That's a good line; I should use it the next time someone asks me if I agree with some position I've never heard of
I've fallen for the trap of guessing before (I figured immaculate conception must mean that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, not through the procreative act, and so said I believed it. Oops). I've also fallen for the trap of letting the interlocutor define the position they want to trap me into affirming (I was given a very uncharitable view of dispensationalism which characterized it based on the views of some cult which held to it instead of the views of normal Christians who held to it, and it wasn't until years later that I read a book written by a dispensationalist about the view, and learned that dispensationalism is really just the name for what I already believe, and I should just call myself a dispensationalist instead of endlessly qualifying covenant theology. Oops)
Concepts don't need a manifesto to exist.
Christian nationalism is mostly about legislating civil and criminal laws that reflect people's views of Christianity (and wow are there many, thanks God for confusing the Christians I guess).
Its really not that hard to find examples of this.
@@hughmongous5089 please show me an example

Granted, I haven't watched yet, but to say "a concept that has no functional definition" is a lie. Plenty of scholars, many of whom are Christian themselves, have sought to provide useful and functional definitions of CN.
Watch the video, silly person
@@TheLutheranSatire I did, and even laughed at parts! Maybe I'm dense, but is the end goal of the video to satirize the bad definitions people provide for CN, or is it to mock the idea that there actually are particularly wrong ways in which we mix theology and politics? I see way too many of my fellow conservative Christian brothers and sisters ignoring or dismissing the myriad ways this mixing goes wrong rather than seeking to understand and discern how we deal with the issues day in a way that is faithful and clear.

The announcer guy looks like Clay Puppington from Moral Orel. Clay is way more hypocritical than Announcer Guy, though, lol
I loved the bit at the end. I'm still surprised how the left ended up anti-Israel. I get how the guy on stage-left could end up making those comments, he's either trolling, or has mistaken comments by people trolling for actually serious claims. I get how a Muslim could get there, they only have to imitate their "prophet". But growing up around people with broadly pre-mil views (I still hold that view, but make especial effort to not assume that just because world events could be setting up for Revelation, that they are setting up for Revelation. We've had 2000 years too many of Christians predicting the Apocalypse in their lifetimes and being wrong for me to commit to that happening until and unless I literally see Christ descending on a cloud), and hearing people of the more stage-right persuasion talk about "antisemitism" and how it's bad, I made an exception for Islam once I started learning about it, but other than that, it seemed to me that basically noone had it out for Israel, and people were just beating a dead horse. But then October 7th happened (no surprise there, though the wantonness of many of the acts committed that night did manage to surprise me, going so far beyond the grape and killing I have come to expect from such people, totally SOP Islamic attack: fight those who believe not in Allah, The Jews are the worst of creatures, those whom your right hand possess are given to you (as sex slaves), attacking during a holiday), and non-muslims were defending Palestine? I don't get it. If Palestine is so innocent in all this, come to the negotiating table with Israel with an offer to hand over every person who can be connected to the October 7th attack for Israel to prosecute and punish how they wish. If that's not feasible, offer to work with Israel to apprehend them. That to me would constitute a show of good faith, but I don't really expect them to do that; most if not all of the perpetrators of the October 7th attacks are likely never going to be punished by a court of law
Y'all hear that dope theme song's base line?
