    Do you have a written pattern? I find it really hard to follow videos and written patterns are just so much easier

      What I usually do is write the pattern from the video. It takes time but it's worth it.

    I would suggest adding instructions for each row on your video and letting us know how many stitches are at the end of each row.

    Skipping stitches?
    If you had done your magic ring differently and made it to where you didn’t have that lump you wouldn’t have to skip stitches
    For example:
    MR 6 (6)
    6 Inc (12)
    [(1 sc, Inc) 6x] (18)

      How do you make a larger version? I'm new to crocheting and would love to make a bigger version as well.

      @@sarahpatriciaanne6473 Use a bulky size 5 or 6 yarn with the hook size recommended on the yarn label. I also suggest using the yarn under yarn over method to keep your stitches tighter with less gaps.

    Question… why skip a stitch instead of just decreasing? It looks like there’s some obvious holes when you skip a stitch instead of just using a decrease. Are there any benefits to doing it this way? I have never seen it done by skipping stitches…

    I've watched so many crochet videos lately because I'm trying to learn, but I've noticed you yarn over the opposite way most people do. Does it matter?

    • @shawnapetty
      @shawnapetty ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It makes the end stitch have a cross look to it. People do it when doing amigurumi to have a more clean look to the finished stitch. You don't have to do it while making amigurumi and your product will still turn out nice :)

    Skipping stitches? What

    • @gloriajaguilar
      @gloriajaguilar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      So, instead of decreasing with single crochet by going into the first loop, yarn over and pull through, then doing it with the second loop, it gives you 3 loops on the hook. You then yarn over and pull through all 3 and that's a normal decrease. She makes it a little easier by letting us "skip" stitches. All she's doing is instead of going into the first loop like you normally do, you go into the second and single crochet as normal. It's helpful when you're using chunky yarn because then you don't have to have as many loops to pull through and the thickness covers the skipped stitch

    • @MoonJellyGames
      @MoonJellyGames หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gloriajaguilarThank you for this explanation. I'm brand new to crochet (about a week and a half), so this kind of stuff is super helpful.
      Two questions, though, if you don't mind: Does this method change anything significantly about the project? I've learned what a decrease is as you described (with three loops), so if I can just so that, I would.
      Unrelated: She starts with what I believe to be an alternative to the magic ring. Is this right? If I did a magic ring instead, how many single stitches would I put in it? I'm assuming it's six.
