I've been Reiki certified for over 10 years and I've also been homeless and never figured out my life. I am good at energy clearing.... but I have a hard time with capitalism. I've been good at healing since before I was even trained. this is my life skill.
This is normal. Often good healers become worse at healing as they get better at capitalism. It's a fine line. What it really comes down to is that our society doesn't well support things that aren't material. If you can offer educational retreats or meetings, these are easier/better money makers.
I found that it helped me to reframe it - I now don’t believe being paid for things like reiki is capitalism. I’m being paid to be able to live in exchange for helping people. It’s anyi 😊
Really enjoyed your videos and found them very helpful. I am preparing to start my business but I work voluntarily for a hospice and have been asked to do Reiki for some patients. I am very good with my practise on people but also my daily practise. I believe working at the hospice will help to build my confidence x
Just wonderful, I have been researching "how to set up a reiki treatment room" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Aeyharlotteon Acclaimed Approach - (search on google ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for learning real Ho'oponopono tricks designed for reiki lovers minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got amazing success with it.

I am slowly starting to feel comfortable with the idea of charging people. I am just getting started, but I know I need to get over this. One thing that I started telling myself is "If I am charging appropriate prices to meet my needs.. then I'll be less stressed and be able to serve as a better healer for the client." My reiki teacher who has been an energy healer full time for 10years also often tells me that people value things more when they pay and can receive a better healing experience when they value it. An additional energy worker and my reiki teacher also have told me that it's really an exchange of energy (healing) and (money). If you think about it people used to trade goods and objects all the time. Money is really just a simpler way to trade goods in modern times without having to trade a goat to get a scraf to eventually trade for something you wanted from the start. Money makes things more convenient....So you could try to think of money as just the physical representation of the TIME it took to earn it. So yes like jayant said charge for your TIME. If you don't charge for your time than you lost an hour or whatever... that could have earned you an income.
Also, my teacher also suggested when first starting off if you don't feel comfortable charging appropriate prices you can try using a sliding scale fee. For example: Lets say you set your slide scale fee at $75 - $100 per hour. My teacher said she has found that people often psychologically see "O" this service is valued at $100 dollars but I can get it for $75 while still giving room for others to pay more if they are more generous. Personally, I am going to try having fixed rates that are average in my area and for new clients they can have a 30% discount for their first 3 sessions. After that it goes back to normal rates. I am hoping this will give others an opportunity to see if they feel it's a good match for them... while also relieving some pressure on me. I figure if they continue after 3 sessions then they must be finding value in the healing sessions. This helps justify to me that yes I am providing value and yes I deserve to get paid. I am literally just getting started, so I am not an expert but I've been thinking about it alot lately. I hope this helps some. Also, if part of your struggle is wanting to help individuals who can't afford Reiki you could try group sessions. An energy healer I have seen offers a very cheap $10 session 1x a month. She often gets around 7 people who do a group session on zoom. So she still is only putting in 1 hour and receiving $70 for her time.
