I went to school with Lavender and she is the sweetest person ever. She sung the national anthem one year and the amount of people who had tears in their eyes (including mine) because her voice is just beautiful. So happy for her and proud of her!
I cried from beginning to end. So precious, so talented, so lucky to have her dads.
I felt the warmth of her heart all the way from South Africa, thank you sharing that beautiful piece of information about her, God bless you.

I cried my eyes out when she said she was not normal (that’s what my autistic little girl said to me in depression), and Simon said people loved her just the way she was.
I’ll show my daughter this. What comes from celebrities usually works on her better than my words, because she knows I already love her. AGT people won’t see this comment, but I still want to say “thank you!” to them not only as the mother of my child but also as one of many parents of autistic children.

The dad's must be so proud of her.Adopting her posed its own emotional and physical challenges. The willingness to adopt her,speaks volumes about the fathers' emotional stability and integrity. Well done Lavender.

The best part of this story for me is seeing how these two dads adopted this older, autistic blind girl… Because she asked them. It’s just too beautiful. So hopeful. Makes you feel like anyone can do anything, anything is possible.
I've met the dads and they are wonderful loving men. I am so happy for them and Lavender. I had tears in my eyes from the moment she started singing. She couldn't have picked a more perfect song.
I hope more people take note of what can happen when you provide a stable loving home for children who don’t have one. The Dad’s have lifted Lavender to a place where all her dreams are accessible. Bravo to all three of them! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤

But it could also be just for student with difficulty and to give them a way to hook them better. Catch the attention if you will... With their own passion.

Sadly Ron DeSantis and his hate-filled far right bigoted white christian men are doing everything possible to destroy Disney so as to prevent gays from being equal in America. I have autism myself, and Lavender just looked straight into my soul. The song choice and her comment about not being normal both hit me so hard. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried my eyes out because “why can’t I just be normal like everyone else.” It just really hit me hard and I’m hoping she wins!

As an autistic adult, seeing this openly welcoming and kind reception of this girl.......was so moving. I didn't grow up in a world where my rocking and quirks were embraced and recognized for what they were. This was definitely not a sympathy vote. She’s a star in the making. Disney has treasures in Putri and Lavender. Their talent and voices are so unique, I can easily see them as Disney Princesses 👸.
Putri is a rich daughter and she already singing since 8 years old already won talent show but Lavender is deserve a new start and opportunity 👍🏼

AGT would never allow a disabled person on the show unless they were a decent standard , can you imagine the bad PR if they flopped , its a certainty as soon as any disabled person walks on stage they will be good .so no surprise for me .

I turned in my tv and I saw Lavender take the stage, I was about to change the channel when she started singing and I haven’t stopped ugly crying since. She’s amazing and such an inspiration. She needs to do some work for musicals or Disney films!

As an AuDHD'er that sentence both made me sad and proud at the same time.. Sad because it is a reality that can bring many hardships, but proud because she said it in a manner that made it her super power!
Being normal just indicates that you follow the norm.. Being normal does not make one stand out in the crowd.. Normal is so overrated.. Normal is not what leads to evolution.. Standing out, does!

Normally when a contestant tells a sad story, I often think this show is a pity contest rather than judging their talent. However in this case, she deserved the golden buzzer more than anyone I've seen before. Such an expressive voice with a magical tone. I'd buy her music. I am extremely happy for her talents, as well as for having two supportive dads.
I don't think it was a deliberate sad story. It was her true story. It was an amazing story.

Every time I watch this I get so emotional. Her singing is beautiful but her story and her dad’s… that gets me every time. She chose them to be her dads and you can tell how proud they are and how much they love her.

Her vocals cut through crystal clear. Not many singers can articulate each word so clearly. A past singer like Karen Carpenter is an example of that and this young lady has the same ability. She also has that special Disney-esc quality and could be hired on the spot for a soundtrack. Very special and Heidi stepped it up immediately and gave a well deserved Golden Buzzer.
I went to this show her singing was genuinely amazing and great to listen hope she can make a career out of this.
This beautiful woman had me in tears INSTANTLY. Her voice is so pure and lovely.
Also, my daughter is autistic as well and the “not normal” comment hurts my heart. She’s tender-hearted and kind, but misunderstood and kids tend to ignore her (she’s 6) or pass her by because she’s nonverbal and still has some language comprehension issues. One kid even called her “a freaky weirdo.” She didn’t understand he was trying to bully her, but ME? I was ready to fight a child. Little do they know she’s actually brilliant and has a talent for art. ❤
What I felt when Heidi hit the golden buzzer is priceless.
Her voice was so pure yet raw & real you could feel all her emotions in her singing. I ugly cried she makes me wanna be brave & go for my dreams too.

Wow so amazing. I am blown away at how sudden and flowing my tears are, as she preformed such a beautifully sung song. I NEVER cried with so much emotion for someone who auditions on AGT. This brought tears to my eyes. I am speechless. Her performance was just magical. You can tell when the entire auditorium was silent. And applause to her two dads for taking her in, knowing she's blind and autistic, which means there will be a lot of daily struggle to fit in, but their love for her prevail. And just to think there are people out there who take their time to spread hate and actively try to damage the LGBT+ community just makes me sick. These two dads deserve so much. Thank you for loving the talent that she is. I'm so happy for everyone involved!

You could really see that when she was backstage & she said I always used to wonder why I was here,now I know! One of her Dads said so we could be a family. Their love for her was so transparent.
