I'm certainly not a salesman (I'm an engineer in a completely different field), but I did start with Innova and most of my bag consists of Innova discs. I agree with OP - these commercials are great. One of the few I don't mind playing through. They're short, to the point, and informative. I get to get a quick synopsis of a disc I might not have considered. I'm down with it. Jomez is knocking it out of the park in a big way, even with their in-video ad selections. The Chris Clemons bits during the Putting Game are also great. I have to throw my support behind the positive stuff, and this is certainly in the right direction.
Great coverage, Jomez! If you're reading, here are a few comments on the changes: New music is awesome. The commentary is excellent as always. The overall presentation is very good. Personally, I would like a return to using the bottom part of the screen for an ongoing tally of the players' current score and last nine holes, I kept looking for that info.

Idea for windy courses. Wind speed readings. You could take a pretty accurate reading near the tee with an anemometer that would only take 15 seconds. And would give some perspective on somr of these wide open holes

Coverage just gets better and better. DGPT may have the live coverage but Jomez has them crushed in production and commentary quality. So excited for the 2023 season what a start!
I keep finding myself glancing down to see all the players scores but have to wait till the end of each hole to see that info. I would love to be able to see all the scores again

I love Jomez and go to for watching pro tour coverage. I liked that last year had name and total round score displayed for each player at all times. Feels like I am always having a hard time to keep track of the players with it constantly cycling in the new style on the lower left corner rather than a banner across the bottom. Thanks Jomez for the great content!
Yea man I agree, as a KJ fan the last hole broke me. First the lets be honest bad luck on the first throw, and then nearly the throw-in. It sucks. Calvin is great and I idolize him too, but something had got to break KJs curse soon.
Dude normally it's heart breaking but I have to say the way he played the last couple holes basically opened up the door. No reason to lay up on some of these holes. I don't think anyone wins tourneys playing defense

"Wrong place at the wrong time" is being pretty gracious to that guy. Imagine someone at a basketball game standing a foot inbounds near the basket when the offense is pushing.
The guy who was hit by AB's disc is a staff member of DGN. He was the rangefinder who was standing next to the camera person. After all the competitors throw their drives the rangefinder goes to each shot to measure the distance left to the pin and the distance of each tee shot if possible. He wasn't just some random spectator.

@@MK212074 Well yeah, I am not excusing him not getting out of the way, just pointing out that this wasn't just some random person. He is a staff member for the live coverage and was in that location because he needs to be to effectively do his job. I am sure there will be some kind of meeting to emphasize the importance of avoiding the discs for the staff members, bur it is likely to happen on occasion, just like refs in other sports occasionally getting caught up in plays.
@@Thisnameisnottakenjk There is a difference between officiants and camera crews. If camera operators got in the way in any other sport, there would be equal frustration. I feel very bad for the individual but having the camera crew invade the center of the fairway so often is just not a professional approach.
Thank you Jomez for taking the production once again to the next level this year! But as so many other here, please consider bringing back scores that are all the time visible. Following for example a hockey game without knowing what is the scoring situation would make it less interesting - and same goes with disc golf. I found myself now being way less interested to focus on watching the whole broadcast as I had to use resources all the time trying to remember who is leading, who is close to leader etc. Watching experience became more just watching these awesome dudes throw some discs, not being aware of the battle of chances that who is going to or can still win. Having the scores up even with a smaller window all the time just makes a huge important difference

It's exactly what you guys said. Kevin didn't lose this tournament. Calvin just came out and beat him. Kev played great, he stuck to his gameplan, didn't get too in his head, almost nailed that last throw in. We will be seeing this exact same lead card again this season at some point I believe
As someone with TBI memory issues i really miss having the scores of all 4 players on screen at all times. But great coverage, and as always great commentary by Jerm, Uli, and Nate. Nice work Calvin!
Great content as always Jomez! For these rounds where wind plays a huge factor I would love to see some type of wind graphic showing a rough estimate of speed and direction. Maybe some flowy arrows over the hole graphic during the hole preview? The guys usually mention it, but us visual learners might understand it a bit better this way.
Crazy finish to a great first tournament of the year! Others have commented on the new scoreboard system, and I have to agree with most of them - I much prefer last year's system. In fact, that was probably the #1 reason (of many) that I preferred Jomez over some other coverage. I'd like to see it go back, although if it stays this way, I'm sure I'll adapt and be OK with it (hopefully).
Wow what a tournament. Congrats to Calvin obviously and just a totally rough wind sheer with Kevin's last tee shot. He came so close to throwing it in to make up for it. Of course there were many shots earlier in the earlier rounds that contributed to being there to make that happen and that's true for all the competitors. True sure made a hell of a run until his luck ran out on the last hole. Great job as Ezra. And I think Matt Bell deserves a shout-out for his hot round. Would love to have seen highlights to see how he did it.

Great coverage! Hope you dont mind if I throw a couple ideas in the suggestion box: 1. For the leaderboard display, is it possible to give rows (players) who have finished their play a slightly different shading. That would help more easily see who is currently playing and who is already done without having to glance at the last column. 2. Super minor, but It would be kinda cool if when the player finishes a hole and the hole score graphic is displayed (e.g. BIRDIE, PAR, BOGEY, etc), that their displayed leaderboard position also visibly scrolled up or down. Currently the leaderboard position is updated as soon as the score graphic disappears, but it would draw more attention to the change if the leaderboard position scrolled down or up as the score graphic comes up. Sorry for the wordieness. I know that second one made no sense. :)
Another No guts no Glory moment by Vinny on 16, well deserved win, I really am struggling to understand Jones's mentality on the B9 but props to 100% sticking to his gameplan I guess. Thank you Jomez for another brilliant tournament coverage. Would not watch Disc Golf without you guys doing it.

I feel like Calvin always starts out the year very strong and the deeper they get into the back part of the season he just fades. At least last year. So if he knows why that happened and it's something he can fix then yea dude could be set up for a monster of a season.

What a start to the Season :D My favorite 2 discgolfers are Kevin and Calvin, so that was a amazing play off, i hate to see Kevin often mess it up in the last round, but atleast it wasnt that bad to day, Calvin was just amazing.
The trippiest thing is playing back AB's throw on hole 10 at 1/4 speed. Jerm and Nate sound hilarious with their speech slurred that slow! And it does not look like AB's disc hit the volunteer. It spiked down on the grass and took a funny backwards hop on the slope and into the bunker. Volunteer definitely didn't look like he was hurt either. I think his little delayed grimace was a reaction to the result. I grant it could have caught the heel of his left shoe, it's tough to say.
If you looked at just the scorecard you would think that KJ blew it but I don’t think the case at all. Dude played so good, but CH played at an incredible level on the back nine. KJ stuck to his game plan, some of those putts down the stretch were sick. On the last hole, Calvin gets a little lucky and KJ gets super unlucky with that air drop but then nearly throws it in, what a cooler. Great coverage, great event!
My three favorite pros to watch, Calvin, Kevin, and Anthony. Kevin has high highs and low lows, Calvin has those smooth low shots but seems to never quite get it, and Anthony bombs for good and for bad but absolutely crushes it.
Jomez, I started watching the coverage for this event on a different TH-cam channel - it was horrible. Considering that, I just wanted to say thank you for the quality of your video production: The drone shots (huge value add), the commentary, angles, slomez, etc... It's all brilliant.
Final thoughts on the leaderboard. Bring the old leaderboard back for the early rounds. For the final round, use the live leaderboard but Only show the top 10, or freeze the top 5 on the screen. Go through the entire top 20 at the end of each 9. Love most of the changes and I think this is a nice middle ground.

What a start to the Season :D My favorite 2 discgolfers are Kevin and Calvin, so that was a amazing play off, i hate to see Kevin often mess it up in the last round, but atleast it wasnt that bad to day, Calvin was just amazing.

I feel like Simon had that same wind shear thing happen a couple of years ago on 18.
I thought the exact same thing, the tournament Simon lost to Nikko when his drive got slapped down hard on the final hole.

He’s been so close. I was really hoping he’d take this one home.
The trippiest thing is playing back AB's throw on hole 10 at 1/4 speed. Jerm and Nate sound hilarious with their speech slurred that slow! And it does not look like AB's disc hit the volunteer. It spiked down on the grass and took a funny backwards hop on the slope and into the bunker. Volunteer definitely didn't look like he was hurt either. I think his little delayed grimace was a reaction to the result. I grant it could have caught the heel of his left shoe, it's tough to say.
I think I like the new graphics. So excited for the rest of the season

If you looked at just the scorecard you would think that KJ blew it but I don’t think the case at all. Dude played so good, but CH played at an incredible level on the back nine. KJ stuck to his game plan, some of those putts down the stretch were sick. On the last hole, Calvin gets a little lucky and KJ gets super unlucky with that air drop but then nearly throws it in, what a cooler. Great coverage, great event!

This fluffy snow can hide anything longer than 200ft.
We use Xmas ribbon tails super glued and taped to the bottom. 3ft long, works pretty well.
My three favorite pros to watch, Calvin, Kevin, and Anthony. Kevin has high highs and low lows, Calvin has those smooth low shots but seems to never quite get it, and Anthony bombs for good and for bad but absolutely crushes it.
I thought it might be over for Calvin when he got that double bogey. What a great ending to this tournament. Still snowy up here in Canada.

Jomez, I started watching the coverage for this event on a different TH-cam channel - it was horrible. Considering that, I just wanted to say thank you for the quality of your video production: The drone shots (huge value add), the commentary, angles, slomez, etc... It's all brilliant.
Wow Calvin killed it, he threw some incredible shots on that back 9. FFS.. 🏆
Final thoughts on the leaderboard. Bring the old leaderboard back for the early rounds. For the final round, use the live leaderboard but Only show the top 10, or freeze the top 5 on the screen. Go through the entire top 20 at the end of each 9. Love most of the changes and I think this is a nice middle ground.
