    Jack the Ripper: What could I do in order to get nation-wide attention?
    Also Jack Ripper: What? Dumping body parts in the Thames doesn't work?
    Also Jack Ripper: What? Not even dumping them in the Scotland Yard building??

Same about Kominsky, Christer and Mr Stow are right in almost all of these murders Whitechapel, torso etc there is ALWAYS a link or connection leading to Charles A Lechmere. I'd like to know how many people died from his hand . I reckon we are far from the real number. I also think he may not have been alone, not on the streets but logistically talking this family hides something even darker in my opinion. A highly dangerous individual. if only we could know the story behind the kid who lived with his mum. His mum must have understood he had something to do with this evil killing spree across London. Mothers often know the true nature of their offspring, and I'm not sure but they were only 2 kids the sister died at 24 Emily Charlotte .

Why did PC Niel not wonder where they were? Because she was never there? And it was a possible staged crime scene ?

    New scotland yard ? Was that where body parts were found in the foundations during construction? Scotland yard police are the only real police in London at the time of jtr, according to sherlock Homes ? Or should I say Conan, who wrote the book? Hmm, Conan, was he born in Edinburgh, or was he educated at the University of Edinburgh ? He must have been aware of Burke and Hare being a keen writer of fictional crimes ? I think they supplied the recent dead to trainee students by digging them up .Conan might have used it in a film, the house of terror staring Basil Rathbone ,but the bodies in the film were destroyed and dressed with the clothes, to make them appear to be someone else? I think ? The body parts found in Mary Shelly s grandsons garden are very dramatic or symbolic ,after all, she was the author of Frankenstien ? If Burke and Hare were around London at that time, you would think it was them ? It would be easy to rule out if dna samples could be collected from the nearest university and didn't match with surviving relatives ? Love a good conspiracy theory?

He had a large family to feed with much financial pressure. When one looks at Annie Chapman, Catherine Eddowes the sole purpose seems to the acquiring of the uterus, swiftly killed, uterus removed and taken away into the night. Polly Nichols may have had her Uterus removed too if JTR had not been disturbed.

      @@thehouseoflechmere9407 Yes, I realize the connection to the Ripper Murders. Perhaps taking body parts as souveniers of his murders? Many serial killers take personal belongings of their victims as souveniers, so that they can later relive the crimes in the mind's eye more intensely.

      Wasn't there a lot of organ theft taking place in the mortuarys back then? Eddowes uterus was removed really cleanly with a straight professional cut. Mitre square would have been pitch black and he would have had to have strangled her to death (1-2 minutes to do) mutilate her face and remove her uterus perfectly. In the dark. Blood every where and his hands would have been slipping and with the police presence and patrols he would have been rushing. I think the uteruses were removed in the mortuarys and sold on from there. Burke and hare were killing people to sell to medical schools or to science and actually made a fairly decent living. Grave robbing was also rife back then aswell

    I believe that man seen climbing the fence was in fact the culprit. And he was checking upon the remains perhaps to see if they were still there or what was going on around them because they hadn't been discovered yet. And maybe also like so many other serial killers, they like to visit the locations/graves & the like of their victims and where the murders took place. Or for both reasons, he couldn't resist visiting out of overwheming curiousity, knowing her remains were still there undiscovered.
    Or maybe they were not dumped there all at one time. They were kept elsewhere and taken in their already decomposed state to be disposed of.
    I know it seems unlikely someone would be able to tolerate the smell and then take it out into the street risking somebody smelling it. But not if he had it well wrapped up in amougst a cart full of stuff. Maybe other strong smelling meat or fish etc. And its just going along the road not like he's carrying it down the busy streets. I know there was a big meat market place in London that was open in the early hours. Can't rememember much about it but it was in a documentary i seen. I think it's in the sight of where executions used to take place.
    There had also been several other serial killers who kept the bodies/body parts around for a long time until they begin to stink the place out and had no choice but to then get rid of them if they lived with others or have close by neighbours. Like Dennis Neilson i believe and another one that lived with his elderly grandmother who started noticing the smell i think he kept them in his bedroom under his bed & he'd keep making excuses why it stunk. That he just hadn't cleaned his room. Then he'd have to get rid of the bodies. They become more acustomed to the smell over time.
    Then there was Jefrey Dahmer who lived with body parts all around him, made an alter from bones & skulls.
    They may have been gradualy dropping the parts into the Thames & other areas one or two parts at a time rather than all the same victim all at once. That's why they seen to be all over the place with different times it would be different tidal flows and different weather etc.

  • @Northern5tar
    @Northern5tar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    None of the heads were found so the perpetrator clearly was able to dispose of parts in a way they wouldn't be discovered. As the head was virtually the only real means by which a victim could be identified it seems plausible this was the reason for the effort.
    The other body parts were left to chance it seems. Dumping in the river, can't tell the odds but it can go either way. Especially since they weren't weighted down. It seemed sufficient they were dumped without anyone seeing him. After that, up to chance.
    That makes the dumping in the Scotland Yard building very odd indeed. To take such an unnecessary risk when he could have done so from a bridge (ps. the bridge under construction might also be a good spot as there would be no traffic). And leave them at a spot they with a high degree of certainty would eventually be found also deviates. No 'up the chance' here.
    I'm sure there were many other construction sites as well so the future headquarters of the Met also seems significant.
    Never have delved in to the Torso Murders and am no doubt saying nothing new here, just giving my first impressions. It was a statement of sorts by the perpetrator. From modern serial killers we know it's not uncommon. That is, as long as it doesn't involve extra risks of getting caught. He must have been either very confident he wouldn't be spotted or noticed, or very motivated.
    Interesting stuff. Thanks.

    • @testicarls
      @testicarls 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe the heads were boiled and skulls kept, buried or sold on the rare antiquities black market. Could have been a medical student prank or because they didn't have a face - therefore humanity taken. Couldnt be identified either. Yes they are probably worse but jack the ripper has been romantised and has that phantom figure quality.

    I have a theory. What if it is a combination of the suspects? Fred deeming I've heard and Joseph Barnet aswell (especially with Mary kelly) he lived in the flat. Knew prostitutes through Mary kelly and didn't approve of it. Was a fish porter by all accounts. He had access to the flat and Mary kelly would have been comfortable enough to let him in. They also had an argument and broke up - how many times do ex partners kill each other? Charles lechmere definitely has either the worst luck but I believe he actually killed 3 maybe 4. Stride I would say could be anyone though. It was a dodgy time and full of dodgy characters. I think lechmere killed nichols. Tabram, eddows and chapman and coles, Mary kelly looked and seemed personal. Joseph Barnett has the motive (jealousy. Rage scorned lover) the means (he lived there and knew how to gain access) and the perfect foil in lechmere doing the other killings of prostitutes he knew she would be put as a ripper victim. Lechmere saw this and thought woah ok someone out there is worse and reigned it in Because of the heat and uproar Mary kelly caused. The reason I don't think Mary kelly was actually a victim of lechmere is because the murders previous were strangulation with mutilation AFTER death. But they were in terms of veracity 7/8 out of 10. Mary kelly was a full 10/10. Thats my theory anyway- I agree lechmere was the ripper though but stride and Mary kelly weren't his vitims

    All the theories neglect the possibility of coincidence of multiple killers. One, Twombly, whose effects examined after death included the trinkets taken off the body of one of the victims.
    One thing I'm curious to know, when Lechemere and the other fellow left they agreed to alert a cop should they run into one: did they part ways, or go together? It seems they could not have, since Lechemere told the cop met there was already one on site. If the other fellow was with him, wouldn't he object to this? How would Cross know? But after parting, he could slit Nichol's throat, and as he moved off may have espied a Bobby rounding the bend. Just speculating Cross strangled her, then became aware of the approaching fellow.

Cover it bury another bit six inches then leave the biggest part just sitting there like you don't care that it's found. Surely the water disposal method would be easier and safer. You may have mentioned in one of the previous episodes that skulls would generally sink in water but their still absent in the land abandoned torsos. No way a serial killer left body parts there as though they were at some random construction site. No way. That 800 sq. metres is the heart of London. Every building is representative of the British establishment. Within 60 seconds walk you are at 10 Downing Street, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Bridge, Westminster Abbey, St. martin-in-the-fields, Police HQ, Tax HQ, all Civil Service buildings, Westminster Cathedral is 2 or 3 minutes walk. He'll, even Buckingham Palace is 2 or 3 minutes walk away. It's an area that I often walk through, travelling between Leicester Square, Charing Cross and Victoria. I rarely hear a British accent. It's all Americans, Germans, French, Japanese etc. That part of London is the part that tourists come for, the part shown on all the postcards etc. Whitehall is Whitehall, and it has a meaning.

I think you would earn more respect if you began my acknowledging that there are other theories which might equally be true. For example, a friend of mine considers it most likely that there were at least two killers with copycat MO. I place that as likely as the Lechmere theory.

      Plus the smell couldn't have gone unnoticed. Rotten flesh in such quantity? Or the vault was the size of football pitch

      @@lhabitnoir yeah very true,its seems part of how this torso was wrapped,a little section was left uncovered so flys would land on the flesh and lay their eggs.it was infected with maggots which suggests the torso was there only a couple of days which is in agreement with testimoney of the carpenter.pupae would take around 48 hrs apprx to hatch.the police were lying.

      @@Baz-Ten i think i understand what u are saying,mud was covering the torso and it was eventually uncovered by rain? The torso was found leaning against the vault wall. If it had been buried beneath the ground i dont think flys would have landed on it and laid their eggs.the flies needed to be attracted by the smell in the first place. The torso was partially exposed,this was done deliberately so the smell would attract flies. The flies and maggotts are key to this because the eggs life cycle can give us a paticular time line for us to estimate how long the torso was in the vault.this forensic information is a scientific fact.it will always overule what dr bond and the police say.

      @@Baz-Ten this was a sizable object the torso,from a well formed woman personally i doubt if it was washed in from the thames through a sewer pipe. The last thing the laborers needed was sewage flowing in to the vault while they were working that wouldnt be alowed to happen.

      @@Baz-Ten i give my opinion having read from the inquest reports i also researched flies and larvae or if u want to read more 1st and 2nd instars as theyre called. Dr bond said the torso was absolutly seething with maggotts. Which means there was probably a couple of thousand.

    Why on earth are you giving so much attention to the bridges, we get the picture. Just say there was construction of bridges blocking water flow. Can’t listen anymore.
