I kinda hate it now because it's an example of fans' expectations getting away from them and then becoming whiny entitled brats because those expectations weren't met. If Marvel fans aren't careful, they'll end up like those entitled Star Wars fans who can't find enjoyment in anything new because nothing will ever match what they've pictured in their fan fic head canon.
I actually feel bad for New Rockstars tbh lol We all had fun speculating with him and now it's used as a punchline like a lot of us weren't hyped with him on that ride . It was harmless

He’s bound to turn up in the MCU eventually. He’s always been a pretty important character in the comics, and so it’d be weird if he isn’t adapted at some point. They’re probably just waiting for the right opportunity to present itself

On a rewatch it makes sense. He's trying to catch Loki, so he's interrogating another Loki. So everything Loki says to try to sound impressive is just more information he's gathering on how he thinks.
Tom Hiddleston’s acting was absolutely superb here. Him alone p/reviewing his life was just...wow.
He's underrated.
YEAH, he's a great actor with a superb command of comedy and drama.

@@Dewrassd I don’t think he will because it would kind of ignore the post credit of Wanda and the fact that it is also tied to MoM. I feel like the words “Nexus” and “Madness” better correlate to Wanda. BUT I think this show will be necessary in setting us up to better understand the meaning of the Multiverse, establishing the TVA and the TimeKeepers, and the impact the creation of the Multiverse will have on the MCU’s set timeline. It’s doesn’t have to mean that Loki is directly involved in causing that event.

Loki watching Thor 2, Thor 3 and Infinity War made me cry just as much as ME watching Thor 2, Thor 3 and Infinity War.
It's also a pretty clever way of them being able to catch him up closer the the "good" Loki we came to love before he was killed. Cause Loki from the end of The Avengers was still a long way off and still conniving.

My hypothesis: Loki saw that the TVA is "always watching" (the propaganda posters through the episode) so he used that to his advantage in the final exchange with Mobius (he was playing to the "audience"). He also realizes that the most powerful position that he could have (more powerful than the infinity stones) was to control the TVA. The "variant" that they are after is a future version on him. He doesn't want to burn down the TVA he wants to rule it and possibly create the multiverse.

There is no future version of Loki he died at the hands of Thanos that never changes, to have a future you have to be on the timeline and this Loki doesn't exist in the timeline and can not go back to it, just as The TVA doesn't exist in time that's why the Infinity stones are just pointless paper weights to them, therefore the Loki they are chasing would have to be either a Loki from way way in the past before the MCU Loki existed otherwise this Loki would know it was him they were chasing, or one from the Multiverse that somehow broke through despite the TVA saying it no longer exists, they either know it does exist and are lying or are being lied to by the TIme keepers.
Loki is Chaotic Neutral. His heart leads to Chaotic Good, but his mind is trapped in Neutral Evil.

Loki didn’t want to mess with time and had no intentions of doing so. So logically, the people intending on tampering with time should face the consequences rather than the ones impacted by them.

TVA doesn’t seem to have any regard for variants. They see them as subhuman and abominations. Literally one variant can erased for not having a ticket.
Maybe the Loki that’s attacking TVA is the one that is done with TVA’s tampering.

small scale time travel or pulling people from other time lines like gamora is to small scale for them to care about.
They only cared for loki long enough to see if he had a case for what he did(didnt know what he did so he was uselss) and they would have deleted him, buuut story has to happen so owen says he can be useful and it will play out.

The Time-Keepers were created by "He Who Remains", the very last director of the Time Variance Authority from the last reality, just prior to the heat death of the universe. The first attempt resulted in the creation of the Time-Twisters, who were flawed and destroyed numerous realities. Due to the intervention of Thor, this reality was split into two: one where the Twisters lived and one where they were destroyed. In the reality in which they were destroyed, He Who Remains created the Time-Keepers to protect time. There were three main Time-Keepers but a fourth was reportedly created and exiled to Egypt in 2950 BC. At some point they recruited Immortus to monitor all time between 3000 BC and 4000 AD. Their first appearance is Thor #282 in 1979. I've been collecting comics a little over 50 years now,yeah I'm a BIG Nerd.
So you're saying that the first Mutant, Apocalypse was the 4th Time Keeper? It makes sense. He actually looks like them the way his cowl looks and what not. Interesting knowledge though. The one framed behind the judge is Kang the Conqueror right? Who eventually marries the judge and creates a Council of Kang to control all of time?

She revealed she did in fact love the conquerer, though her apparent death was only the beginning of her story as she later returned as the Terminatrix.On his first trip through time, Kang decided to go to ancient Egypt. Upon his arrival, Kang used his advanced weapons and robots to take over. He then ruled over the Egyptians as their new Pharaoh, Rama-Tut. This En Sabah Nur would eventually go on tobecome Apocalypse,Kang's ultimate endgame was to make the young Apocalypse his heir. Unfortunately for Kang, The Fantastic Four also found themselves at the same time and overthrew Him,though he would return many times over the years.
The Original Council"The Council of Kangs" was a group led by Prime Kang that was tricked by Immortus into eliminating all divergent Kangs in the Multiverse, as that would ensure Prime Kang's destiny would end with him becoming Immortus. The Council of Kangs was eventually recreated as part of the Kang Collective.
At some point Loki is going to get loose and try to Bamf himself to the TVA and end up at the Tsnnessee Valley Authority offices in Knoxville, TN where everybody sounds like the orientation video narrator.

Two cool details from the infinity stone scene
1. Could be hard to see, but there were no soul (orange) stones in the desk (they could be the ones that look red but it’s hard to see), it shows how many people didn’t go through with the method of getting it.
2. The scene is seen comedically for the fact that the stones are used a paperweights, but it’s more significant and depressing for Loki. Loki has been fighting to be the most powerful being in the universe. But even if he succeeded or even he all the infinity stones, he still wouldn’t even come close to what the TVA is capable of. This breaks Loki and extremely humbled him to realize how little he has done.
My theory is that the stones + gauntlet in the hand of a being strong enough, like Thanos, still are more powerful than the TVA, but the ones in the evidence cart no longer work, because they're "variants" and the originals can't be fully duplicated without the Celestials. Notice that there were individual stones but no gauntlet to wield them together. A soul stone appears over some papers in the credits scene, btw.

The infinity stones in the drawer was a fantastic way to get across how real this just got. They were the driving force of the MCU for the last decade... and they're being used as paper weights. As Blonsky once said, this is a whole new level of weird.
Also a nice touch that most of the stones in that box are time and reality, which makes sense.
If we worked at the TVA and Beef N Cheddars didn't exist, we wouldn't want to live.
We'd cover ourselves in Horsey Sauce and smash some sort of doomsday device while screaming "we have the meats!" to end it all.

In addition to what other people have said about Bad Batch and movies in general, Black Widow is going to release on Friday July 9th, and they probably don't want Loki conflicting with that.
I think it's more to not conflict with Bad Batch. We'll have no problem seeing Loki and Black Widow on the same day. But if I'm waking up on Friday morning and only have time to watch 1 show before heading into work? It's gonna be Loki, every time. BB I'll get to on the weekend. But if enough people do that it will affect the ratings / view counts, so Disney put the shows on separate days to maximize views. Imho.
Look Disney is not stupid, they have a lot of new content coming this summer and they want u like anyone on their service as much as possible. So if they have one new show premiering on different nights of the week to keep u there theyre gonna do it. Similar to network tv.

I feel like they are doing a time travel version of How to Get Away With Murder.
But instead of flash forwards showing what's gonna happen in the finale, we're seeing how this new Loki is gonna slowly turn into the older variant, who is out there killing people. And the show is gonna end with Loki splitting the multiverse, leading into the rest of Phase 4 and a multiverse war.

I love how 5 timecops were bested by a grass fire. Even red shirts have tougher armor.
Have to admit, at first I was starting to get a wee bit annoyed at how the writers had the TVA treating Loki. We'd just spent over ten years watching Loki be built up from a standard, moustache-twirling villain to a _very_ complex character who was extremely dangerous precisely because of how clever he was. And then all of a sudden, he's being chumped constantly. I was starting to wonder if they'd did our boy very dirty in this, in their attempt to show us how powerful the TVA is supposed to be.
But I loved the whole escape sequence. Not because it reassured me that Loki the character was still as clever as ever. It was because as everyone is looking for him, the rest of the TVA is still acting the same arrogant way they had throughout the episode. Except for Moebius. The moment he realised that Loki had not just escaped, but was on the loose, Moebius was scared. Not only does this let us know that Loki is still as clever and as dangerous as ever, it also was a nice subtle way to show us that Moebius was completely truthful when he said that he knows what Loki is capable of. That kind of writing is just...*chef kiss*. I have almost no concerns left about this season.
I had a similar feeling that Loki doesn't want to be messed with n he's gonna revenge vs playing the tva game.
The cinematography is giving me major Doctor Who/time agency vibes. The 70s feel, the round things all over the place, at one point someone calls the tesseract a 'magic blue box'. Tom's accent added and you can close your eyes at a few points and think you were listening to a Big Finish audio drama.
They got everything right what the current version of Doctor Who got wrong.... better casting on all levels, and a script that actually keeps you entertained but also makes you think . instead of one that has the thinking done for you

I think the minutemen don't realize that when they reset a timeline they effectively kill the people of that time by destroying it. I could be wrong tho, but I fine it interesting that they never show what the reset device does when they took Loki. Maybe really bad Loki is seeking revenge for their timeline being destroyed.

I might be wrong, but the way I understood it the multiverse still exist. The timekeepers joined the timelines of the multiverses into one so that there are still different realities, they all just share the same timeline.
Loki scrambling to find his ticket reminded me a lot of The Last Crusade during the “No Ticket!” scene.

The aesthetic of the TVA office definitely reminded me a lot of Mad Men, which Michael Waldron said was an influence on the show.

I had this theory since endgame that the variant is the one that dies in Infinity War and they swapped places sometime in between Ragnarok and Infinity War. This episode just added more to my theory here that the main series Loki is the second 'variant' they are after and he is there basically to make sure that THIS Loki gets to his place in Infinity War. For me it really adds to 'I assure you, brother the sun will shine on us again.' It actually means something and said with the knowledge rather than just a thing to say. Lovely reaction as always! you two are my favorites!

The last scene touches on something that AFAIK the comics completely ignore, that Loki, at least the Germanic version, isn't just the God of mischief but of fire.
Also who else would like to see Loki run into some other trickster god? Hermes, Prometheus, Coyote and The Monkey King all come to mind
While watching this episode, I was reminded of the Time Masters from DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which featured Arthur Darville, Rory from Doctor Who. I wouldn't mind seeing a reference or two from either of those shows.
