    The orgin can be changed. You place your drill orgin where you want your orgin and change orgin to be drill orgin in preferences

    Thanks so much for this, it's tough finding tutorials for the newer version of KiCad and this video helped me create a heart shaped pcb in version 6.0.

      That is great to hear🙂 I will start new tutorials for V6. Let me know if there are specific topics you would like me to cover.

      @@PlumPot Thank you, while I'm no stranger to PCB's and CAD, I did find navigating through KiCad's component libraries a bit confusing. There are a lot of videos out there that show you how to do this but nothing I could find was short and to the point. It took me the better half of a day to educate myself on this process, and in reality only took a few minutes to accomplish. Thanks again, liked and subscribed and look forward to your other vids.

    Hi, I want your help...I'm working on a 4 layer pcb (with 1st layer-signal, 2-GND, 3- 3.3v 4- signal) and m using CAP1203 cap sense IC and have created 3 cap touch pads on 4th signal layer...now should i remove copper from 3rd layer(i.e 3.3v) underneath the touch pads?? Please help

      Hi Ayush, yes I would remove the planes underneath your pads. Maybe also swap your layer 2 and 3. So GND and 3.3V. Is that possible? What you can also do is have a mesh GND under your touch pads. When you look at development board most of them have mesh underneath. This is difficult to do in KiCad though. So I would just remove it🙂

    Where would you place the origins for pic and place on a shaped board?

    • @PlumPot
      @PlumPot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chronic, you mean the origin of your pic and place parts or origin of the grid. Kicad has two different origins. The grid Origin can not be changed that is somewhere always like top left. The pick and place origin you place bottom left of PCB. You want all your components co ordinances to be positive.

      @@PlumPot so if I use a temporary line from the the left most point to the bottom and a line across to meet that that should be my origin point for the pic and place?
