Ah, what memories. In 1971, I was a young music student in Vienna for a year. WIth friends, I saw over 50 operas that year in the Vienna State Opera, and a few in the Volksoper as well. I also attended over 50 concerts, many in the Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.. There was a standing room ritual, where we slowly walked up the stairs, following an usher, to the two top tiers for stnading room-then you would make a fast break to find your place. A story I like to tell, is that there was always an elderly woman sitting in her standing room place with a small light and musical score. I was told that she was (I think) an acquaintance or mistress of Gustav Mahler. Vienna is a magical city with a musical culture that is unrivaled.
Hello John,

Помню каждый свой визит в Венскую Оперу. Потрясающий театр, оркестр, исполнители. Господи, дай нам всем, нормальным людям вновь путешествовать и наслаждаться жизнью.
I have seen it outside, and hope to visit inside one day. Impressive artistic temple.
Going there I. December cannot wait!
Have fun ;)
You didn't show us the costume, just showed you looking at it?!
When this building was first unveiled, it got so much heat that one of the architects killed himself.

100% Italian Renaissance architectural style
It was built in 1869... Wow
In fact a very young building, for the standards of Vienna 😉.
The hungarian opera house is in my opinion a bit nicer
Envy kills.
