Hi! AO ballkid here. Yep they are great. We also receive many great presents plus get to keep all our uniforms. It’s great. But trust me, those tips are HOT. I almost fainted to other day on court bc of the heat and the tops didn’t help!

I wonder if the ball kids get trained on how to correctly pick up an insect from the tennis court surface that is causing a disturbance to players? In one of Stefanos Tsitsipas matches played in this years tournament, an annoying bug was within the court playing surface and the ball girl was scared and reluctant to pick it up and move it elsewhere.

Hi! AO ball kid here. No we don’t. They tell us nothing about it. We may get told sometimes by the umpire or supervisor to pick up leaves and stuff off the court but we just have to be ready to get bugs if needed
