Creating a WiX based MSI installer for a .NET Project

This video shows you how to create an MSI installer using WiX Toolset . I demonstrate setting up the WiX XML file to create a MSI installer for the Coju for Outlook application deployed by my company. The Coju for Outlook that uses this MSI install can be downloaded from:

I have a debug and release version of my project. Is there a way to specify in the wxs file so it automatically takes the correct relative paths, depending if debug or release if being built?

Hi, I have a question. In my Visual Studio project properties under Settings I have defined an SQL connection string. I would like to allow the user to edit this string within the Installer. Do you have an idea how I should write this in the XML?

Nice Video! Question, why is the timestamp url important in you signing batch file?

Thank you, Kevin. While timestamp url is optional, if you specify it your EXE will always have a valid certificate. If you do not specify it you will have to re-sign the same EXE every time the certificate expires which can be anywhere from 3 - 12 months (normally).
