The great David Vine…how we miss you sir, and this programme. I loved watching the great skiers of the 1990s - Ortlieb, Heinzer, Alphand, Trinkl, Knauss, Tommy Moe, Girardelli, Tomba, Aamodt, and on the women’s side, Seizinger, Kostner, Wiberg, Kronberger, Wachter, Compagnoni, Picabo Street…magical era for skiing.
I agree, it's more like a travel programme than watching a ski contest, with the presenters , interrupting after every skier with there face ,no wonder Graham bell went to Eurosport and I miss his skiing the course, it's a bit like Martin brundle grid walk when he left BBC.
Thanks for posting this! Loved Ski Sunday as a kid in the 80s growing up in Lancashire, where there was no snow in sight. As an adult I learned to ski in Austria and Kitzbühel is where I now take my kids. Can’t handle the mousetrap though 😂 I like to think this episode planted a seed in my mind that came to fruition twenty years later.
Its great to see the old ski sunday programmes again i watched ski sunday from the very early 1980s with my mum who is no longer with us now watching these 2 episodes did bring back memories is there anymore you going to put on as i would love to see more of the old ski sunday many thanks.
My stepfather used to religiously subject us to this programme every Sunday, then even before the theme tune had finished, he'd fall asleep! We'd then try to change channels and he'd instantly wake up and say: "I was watching that!" 🤦♂️
Back then, I thought the future still had some hope, although, even then, I was exhausted. It's all been rubbish really. Yep. Can't lie. I'm not interested in anything anymore.

Fabulous Sundays commentated by a legend.
Really enjoyed this wonderful piece of Sunday morning nostalgia - thanks for posting!
When skiing was still exotic and adding that fantastic Human League track made it even more so...
Which track
@@elvispresley1085 The things that dreams are made of. The version from the Love and Dancing LP
Epic times and exotic indeed. 225cm skis and wacky outfits.
David Vine WAS 'Ski Sunday' for me.
Can't beat commentary down through the phone! Really adds to the drama.

Badass test pilots on skis!! Awesome generation of racers.
Thank god we still have Stemmle.
I cannot agree enough with you all. Sunday, exotic, David Vine, Human League, Lauberhorn, Kitzbuhl, Klammer, Tomba
Thanks for posting
Great programme: I miss Alan Weeks.
7:11 Human League. 'Things that dreams are made of' This version is on the album, Love and dancing. Instrumentals of DARE

The memories...
Modern computer graphics at the start, but poor David still had to phone his commentary in.
