    My middle school took square dancing so seriously that after the painstakingly awkward and long 2 weeks of the PE unit, the whole school (of about 1,000 kids and teachers total) would gather in the gym and square dance for about 2 hrs and for a few years we had the Guinness World Record for most people square dancing at once and the plaque hung in the main hallway of our school

    Actually da Vinci thought extremely highly of the Mona Lisa. According to one of his apprentices, he toiled over the painting for months, and, in true perfectionist form, he even repainted it entirely several times. He recognized it was a masterpiece and is said to have travelled with it for the rest of his life.

      thank you mr mccoul, there is so much hidden in the mona lisa to say it was a passing thing and hardly interesting to him is insulting to the genius who painted it and made it that way, seriously great big story i love your videos but that was a very child like mistake. its been known for a long time just how much she meant to leonardo and as david mccoul has said he took her with him wherever he went to finish her and keep her safe, thats hardly a passing thought with no interest. why is it you think napoleon wanted her on his wall? why did it get a spot in the louvre? why was it that painting the italian man stole? dont be dense guys, shes important for so many other reason than what you have stated.

    I remember that in the 6th grade we had to dance the waltz and my partner did not want to dance with me because he did not like me. (I don't know why, I never bothered him and was nice to him). Luckily the quiet kid in class danced with me and we did a good job and got a 100% in class while the kid who did not want to dance with me (and did not want to dance at all) failed.

    Never square danced in school, and I'm kinda glad I never faced that type of embarrassment, but I remember my purple plastic recorder. We'd tie different colored strings at the bottom to show our progress. The color of recorder showed what group we were in. We were in 3rd grade when we did it, and then boom, we dropped recorders in 4th grade.

    The recorder isn't that vile. I don't hate comic sans, it's just misused in excess, which would be the fault of the user, not the font. The recorder as described, is a great gateway tool into music. Also, the recorder can sound beautiful, there are musicians on TH-cam that play recorder, check them out. Those videos are literally filled with comments like "but I thought recorder couldn't sound good"

    • @yllom9667
      @yllom9667 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Hayes comic sans is used so much because it’s the easiest font for people with dyslexia to read. Each letter is slightly different to the other, for instance b & d wouldn’t look the exact same flipped so it’s harder to mix the two up while reading. And you’re correct about recorders, my mom’s played all her life and she makes it sound nice.

Well... The school stopped giving recorders when I was in 4th grade, so I never got a chance, but now I'm in middle school, and I play the flute, so it's still pretty close

I admit the holiday is commercialized, but it's still just ways to show your appreciation. The overall idea of honoring your mother is still the main idea.

    The Mona Lisa was actually a portrait of a merchant mans wife but Da Vinci ended up liking the portrait so much he never gave them the painting and kept it until his death. She also wasn’t standing in front of mountains, he was just creative enough to put them in.
