I can't see a Mig-17 and not relate it to Randy Ball. I hope to see this plane live once more in my life. There something about that Mig that attracts me a lot. Perhaps it is the wings design (including those in the tail).
The pilot on the MiG-17 performed a beautiful takeoff, removed the landing gear and went into the set. Then a few more passes over the strip at 5 meters on the afterburner. Handsome!
I am from Slovakia, formerly Czechoslovakia, central Europe, these machines flew over our heads during socialism, the cold war. It's both strange and gratifying to see how you're having fun with these machines, controlled by your hands, in the US today. Who would have thought of such a thing back then, in those days, that with one click of the mouse on some kind of TH-cam I would be able to see it easily, without restrictions. As part of the Air Show. Nice flight demonstration by the way.
yes it is weird. You should come here one day to see the show. I am not sure if you are familiar with our country but this is in a State called Wisconsin and is one of the most famous air shows in the world.
@@goldenmanuever1176 Of course I would love to see your show live. I guess I'll make it sometime. Unfortunately, I have not been to the USA yet, but I am very tempted to visit your country. There were no Palestinians in Israel 200 years ago; Arabs began to appear in Israel after Zionist Jews began to settle there. Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol - 1848. From a letter to Zhukovsky (02/28/1850), in which Gogol describes his impressions of his pilgrimage to Palestine: Noting that in ancient times it was “possibly” a flourishing country, Gogol writes: “but now, when it is rare, rare to see five or six olive trees along the entire slope of the mountain, the color of their land is as grayish and dusty as the most the rocks of the mountains, when only a thin layer of moss and patchy patches of grass turn green in the middle of this naked, uneven field of stones, and after some five or six hours of travel you come across an Arab’s hut somewhere stuck to the mountain, more like a clay pot, a stove , an animal burrow than a human dwelling - how can you recognize the land of milk and honey in such a place? Imagine, in the midst of such desolation, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and all the eastern cities, looking like randomly stacked piles of stones and bricks; imagine the Jordan, skinny in the middle of the naked mountainous surroundings, here and there overshadowed by small willow bushes; imagine in the midst of such desolation at the feet of Jerusalem the valley of Jehoshaphat with several stones and grottoes, as if the tombs of the kings of Judah.” “Really, I don’t know what I can tell you about Palestine that would lead you to beneficial thoughts and encourage you to take up your pen and your poem with inspiration.” Mark Twain - 1867. "Simps Abroad" Palestine can rightfully be considered a queen among lands whose very appearance causes despondency. Its mountains are barren and ugly, their colors are dull. The valleys are unsightly deserts with stunted vegetation, which emanates melancholy and squalor. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee sleepily numb among the deserted mountains and plains, where there is nothing to rest the eye on - there is nothing bright or striking here, there are no gentle landscapes dormant in a purple haze or dotted with the shadows of clouds floating in the sky. All cutting outlines, all lines are clear; there is no perspective here - in the distance everything is just as devoid of charm as up close. A joyless, gloomy and mournful land. However, some of its shreds and shreds must be beautiful in the bloom of spring - all the more beautiful since they are surrounded on all sides by a bare desert, which has no end or edge. I would very much like to see the banks of the Jordan in the spring, and Shechem too, and Ezdrilon, and Aijalon, and the shores of the Sea of Galilee - but even in the spring they would all seem like just toy gardens, planted far from each other in the endless desert. Palestine is a deserted and unsightly land... Palestine no longer belongs to our everyday life; prosaic world. It is given over to poetry and legends - it is a land of dreams..
I've seen Randy Ball several times in person. He puts on a great show! His high-speed flybys are so low. I swear he's only about 10-15 feet off the ground.
I missed out on this year's show, I know tragedy struck unfortunately, can you imagine the reaction back in the 1950's when the MIG debuted? wow that thing is beautiful
Randy es el alma de ese hermoso mig 17, algo ahi en ese gran binomio , maquina-hombre, mis jet favoritos es el mig 17 y el A-10 americano, el cual tuve el privilegio de verlo en un show aqui en mexico!!
Great Russian Planes. Real masterpieces. This mig 17 of Vietnam fame dazzled beyond imagination. It's low passed were a real blinders. Really happy to see it in action 🌹
Still sucks the Mig-23 lost that part of the cockpit glass would have been cool to see all 3 if not all 4 had the Mig 21 made it as well, hopefully we'll see it in the future as a 4 ship flight
The SIZE difference is astonishing . The little and Gorgeous 17 seems to be RUNNING really well . No Coal . The 29 , although a total Monster , did seem to be having Fueling issues . Leaking Re-Heat valve ? It cleaned up on Burner .
Absolutely mind blowing that these are American civilian owned Russian fighter jets. How do you even get your hands on one? Especially a MiG-29?! Absolutely love both planes.
The difference between the US and Russia: You can see civilian-owned Russian-made jets flying in the US, but don't see civilian-owned US-made jets flying in Russia
The engines still are based on 1960s designs. Military engine designs from that time usually trade efficiency (black smoke = unburned carbon = wasted energy) and lifetime for weight and performance. Western engines from that time smoke the same. There is no modern engine governor. When they throttle up, they run a bit too rich before revving up. That's where the blackest smoke puffs come from. When we still had our Phantoms flying here in Germany, you could see them smoking to a greater distance than you could hear them. All the way to the horizon. Our CH-53s have always been smokey too.
The MiG-17F did. Was one of the first planes with an AB, and one of the first AB's in general. You can see just by the way it looks that it's a 1st Gen afterburner, same with the F-100 if you're ever seen one
Apparently there was an extra unauthorized person in the back seat, because the Ejection seat isn't active otherwise and apparently the FAA didn't like it because it was unplanned apparently
Красота!!! а Миг-17 вообще красавчик!!!
Love how Randy Ball always keeps his shows fast and low!! The Mig-17 is awesome!!

Вы знаете, мне тоже показалось что то завораживающее в конструкции крыльев.@@djengoelv
gotta say, for a jet thats older than i am, that Mig 17 is quite the stud!
That Mig-17 is really shiny and beautiful! It's the first time I see these fly on video
Don't play with NK. They have Mig 17s. They will teach a lesson. 😤
A lot of MiGs at Oshkosh this year!
Ask for some suhoi.
The most beautiful painting I've ever seen on a Fulcrum. So far, my fav jet!
Mig-17 is one beautiful airplane! Great job filming!!
The -29 is nice but I like the looks of the -17

Incredible! Thank you!
I wanna see a MiG-17 sooo bad!! Great filming as always🎉
This ch rocks! I was at Oshkosh all week and I STILL needed/enjoyed watching this clips! Thank you

seeing the ramps move is awesome; pretty cool seeing a western MiG-29.

I was lucky enough to see this live! Perfect night and incredible flying

Beide Typen gab es ,wenn auch zeitversetzt, bei der NVA☝️☝️☝️☝️
that mig-17 is the most awsome looking jet i have ever seen with amazing cam quality too
That Mig 29 must surely rank as the sexiest fighter plane ever!
So is The F-15 Eagle too.
Best landing lights ever on that 29

Amazing to see what was a Mikoyan- Gurevich legacy performance.
Fantastic!! Thankyou
Randy Ball’s MiG 17 demos are awesome! I got to meet and talk to him several years ago at an airshow at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City Louisiana.
Mig 17 is the most beautiful warplane of all time.
Great camera work - it's so hard to keep up with them at these speeds !
The Mig 17 is a show stealer. With flames like that coming out of the rear, this airplane looks dangerous. Beautiful.
Beautiful!!!
Amazing as always!
I was there! It was a GREAT SHOW!
Никогда и представить не смог бы, что увижу в полёте 29-й вместе с 17-м! Спасибо!
I want to paint everything I own in the MIG-29 paint scheme.
Wow this is super rare ! 2 of them together, instead of usual polaris formations with alphas.
In Gartz , auf Usebom, wurde mit der MiG 17 auch die "Brig... Atlantik " begleitet ...
Those are two beautiful birds!!
Love watching the takeoffs & landings! 👍✈️👍
Fantastic Mig 17 & Mig 29
Слава советским инженерам, руководителям и технике!!!

Bello, magnifico, un MIG 17 todavía volando, excelente espectáculo, felicitaciones
Is it the same as the MiG-17, or has its engine been updated? It can be developed and equipped with modern equipment as a light aircraft.
Man that pull up at 6:09! almost looks sped up. crazy performance the mig17 has epsecially with randy at the controls

Who owns that Mig-29? Didn’t I see a pair of L-39’s earlier in the week with the same camo?
Was there any F-86 this year in Oshkosh?
From what I saw, none.
Why is it a lit burner always reminds me of hot dogs and marshmallows?

The difference between the US and Russia: You can see civilian-owned Russian-made jets flying in the US, but don't see civilian-owned US-made jets flying in Russia
There are enough American planes in Russia and they also fly Cessna, Boeing and others there
Why does the MIG-29 puff black smoke??
older engine design and less efficient fuel combustion, leading to the production of soot and unburnt hydrocarbons
It's a Russian Jet. Runs on vodka so not as clean burning as regular Jet-A.
The engines still are based on 1960s designs. Military engine designs from that time usually trade efficiency (black smoke = unburned carbon = wasted energy) and lifetime for weight and performance. Western engines from that time smoke the same.

Yes I know it’s old but so is the F-16 and it’s still in service.

Apparently there was an extra unauthorized person in the back seat, because the Ejection seat isn't active otherwise and apparently the FAA didn't like it because it was unplanned apparently

Mig-29 and Mig-17, both from Mother Russia
