This video describes the detailed DIY upgrade procedure of Rear Floor Console in Maruti Suzuki Alto. The stock floor console in Alto serves only as trim part for the handbrake lever assembly. The trim has no utility features (like bottle holder/12v socket). Even otherwise, the car's interior has no storage space for water bottles. The door pockets are slim and only two cupholders are available in the front console. Later on, in 2014, Maruti introduced Alto K10 2nd generation model which gets a bottle holder, smartly integrated in the rear floor console (common feature in multiple Maruti cars). Fortunately, because console mounting design was retained, the improved part is also compatible with older Alto cars (both Type 1 and Type 2). So the replacement installation is very simple and makes for a quick DIY. Overall the upgrade costs just 217 rupees, providing high value for money.

Actually the type 2 (Alto 800) console is not compatible to Alto Lxi mainly since the mounting points are different. Other major constraint is that this console is meant for cable-type gear shifter assembly which has short throw compared to the rod-type shifter in Lxi.

Thanks it really helped. But the Rubber is missing which is just above the hand break. Pls suggest the part # for the rubber on it. As the internal hamdbreak parts are visible. And not looking nice. Please suggest. Thank you.

The specific part you require is not sold/available separately with MGP. The parking brake lever assembly (54100M76G30, Rs.275) is a single unit. So you'd need to replace it whole. Hope this helps 🙂👍

Hi Amol. Yeah, I would say it's possible. I had custom fitted Alto 800's console with specially stitched leather boot for gear lever. Primarily to add bottle storage space besides improving looks. Right now I'm checking how to fit Maruti's new gear knob and working on finishing details to complete the setup.

Bhai alto k10 2012 modwl ka rpm meter install kro
Alto K10 ka rpm meter toh instrument cluster mein in-built aata hai na. Actually, cluster badalne se odo reading reset ho jaegi. And also bcoz K10 is BS4 model, not sure of compatibility for 2009 BS3 Alto.
