One of the best, and most underrated actors in Hollywood. He can do anything. Comedy, drama, lead, serious roles. This guy has no limits to his skill. One of my favorite actors of all time. He's that good. Congratulations on your success bro if you ever read this. So well deserved.
His performance was spectacular! Thomas really brought his character to life. I grew up in Buelton and Lompoc so those are my neck of the woods. I love this movie. Sorry for the sales of Merlot that went down because of the Miles line.
This movie is special to me because I lived in Santa Ynez for 10 years and loved it. Now, I'm stuck in a dump called Las Vegas. The casting was perfect. The acting is amazing. The story is amazing. And, the sound track wraps it all up into one big, glorious bow. I can't count the number of times I have watched this movie and enjoyed it every time. Each viewing I'm back home and I can feel the joy of being back in "The Valley."
This movie was a joy for me. It has a great cast and a well developed story about life's struggles and contradictions. So many real life situations and credibly performed by the wonderful actors. A ten rating from me!
Keep being reminded. Have not seen it, since it first came out. Almost afraid to watch it again. I am afaid it will spoil my fantastic first impressions of it. Just watching small clips of it makes me savor it like small sips of fine wine.
I watched Paul's interview and while he is a very intellectual person, I think Thomas had a better "grasp" and "interpretation" of the movie's meaning. I totally agree that Mile's was the glass 1/2 empty, while Jack was the glass 1/2 full. I felt Mile's was a middle-aged man dealing with struggles in life, anxiety/depression, etc. Jack is similiar, but has an easy way of going about life, which is why I find both compliment/support each other in the film. I recall Paul saying Mile's was kind of an alcoholic and uses the wine tour as an excuse to be an alcoholic, but I disagree. In the movie, Mile's was very well-versed on wine, although Paul alludes to not knowing much about wine, in the movie, he did a very good job of sounding like an expert, which in the movie, Mile's sort of was. So I like this interview much better b/c I think Thomas had a better interpretation of the film.
Killotarian Yes! He did! I think he was interpreting other perspectives, this movie had many interpretations and could be perceived in many ways. That's what made it so great, and it was so real, unlike many movies today. It's one of the few movies that tackles or at least acknowledges mental health issues and brings out the sense of humor of it.
Shitty that even so early on Sandra had accepted that, in her own words, she was a hard sell and that success in one thing wouldn't lead to success in other things for her specifically. She still talks about that now.
would not have been the same with brad pitt or George Clooney, this is a much better actor in the 1st place with excellent comedic timing, neither of those guys could have done it as well
Yeah, I know. It just makes me laugh. Writers get no respect. Remember the news the day after the Academy Awards how it was noted that not a single person mentioned or thanked Winston Groom, the writer of Forrest Gump? LOL.

I feel this is one of the best films out there! Love it!
Crafty Accountant ...you are spot on!!!

It has great replay value for sure.
sandra is a real treat, gorgeous, smart and so down to earth
Sandra Oh is so down to Earth and has such a beautiful perspective about her work. She did a great job in this movie
One of the best movies ever made!!!
"Let's ratchet this up a notch!"

He was so convincing as 'Jack'...that it's almost impossible to hear him say such insightful heartfelt things about this film. He was THAT good.

Same. Watched it for the first time today, alone on Christmas eve. It's a 10/10 for me.
What a wonderful interview.

It’s a sin!
Thank you for this upload! I friggin love this film
Awesome interviews ! Love this movie !
Thomas Haden Church is such an underrated actor. He should be A-list.
I love you guys, Thomas Haden and Paul Giamatti. I enjoyed the movie. And you are fantastic actors 🙂🙂🥰
Such a GREAT actor. Love him in anything he plays. ❤
I find Sandra very smart...
Love this film!

Best Picture of 2004!

I have to agree with your opinion here. It's almost like Paul didn't get the film... Which is strange because he absolutely nailed the role so well!

Paul fully understood the film.
Paul had to 'get' his character and the film to play Miles so well. He fully understood it.
The “you know” drinking game had me in black out state at 4:25. Whew..
No Going To The Dark Side!
"Do you have any other shoes? hmmmm..."
Great blend of acting between Giamatti and Church. They really need to team-up again.
Seriously. I would enjoy seeing this duo hit the town for a drink. Not that Hollywood makes movies like this anymore. Maybe a Superbowl commercial?
the amount of "you know" in this interview is just....you know! XD
Ha totally. Sounds absolutely awful
"NOW WITH THE LOW LOW 5.8 PERCENT FINANCING!"
Didn't know this girl was a Canuck. Great actress.
Shitty that even so early on Sandra had accepted that, in her own words, she was a hard sell and that success in one thing wouldn't lead to success in other things for her specifically. She still talks about that now.
mmm...hes lovely

He looks like a real life version of prince charming from Shrek 2 in this interview.
BTW. Sandra Oh is HOT
mmmm... I'd have to disagree. I think she's attractive.
Ivan B
you disagree with yourself? haha
..yea..
you're funny
@@mangelpaaideer she's ok, not prototypical beauty
I think Paul's interpretation is a bit more valid than yours, Ivan. He only played the part.
I'll bet Paul knows how to use apostrophes correctly, too.
Flint Marko was depressed teacher and unsuccessful writer since 2004
I wonder how she got cast in that movie? Oh yeah I forgot she's married to the director
Who cares
People calling Alexander Payne "the writer" in all these interviews. LOL.
He did write the screenplay.
Yeah, I know. It just makes me laugh. Writers get no respect. Remember the news the day after the Academy Awards how it was noted that not a single person mentioned or thanked Winston Groom, the writer of Forrest Gump? LOL.

where did she lose her bust??!! there is nothing now...
huh? I see cleavage and then the rest of her chest is cut off by the lower edge of the frame. how can you comment on what you cant even see?
I don’t really like this interviewer
Agree, as he speaks too quickly & almost incoherently (to my aging ears, anyway ;-).
Can't Haden speak for 10 seconds without repeating that annoying "you know?" stupid phrase?
RL R You shouldn’t have said anything! That’s all I hear now!
Take a shot every time...😂👍
You ruined it!
