What a kick watching this first video! And Kiari even makes her 1st appearance. Nothing's changed. Except your studio. I'm on a working vacation so have a week to go back and watch all your old videos. The line about no babies being harmed was priceless especially after seeing her all last summer. Congratulations on 9 years of helpful tips and tools.
Thanks! This is very helpful! I've been wondering what I should be doing for my favorite tool to keep it in good shape. I appreciate the time you took to document this. I also appreciate that it is especially hard with a baby in tow - a really cute one too! Thank you.
Great video! Thank you. I was looking for my dremel flex shaft, but now I just saw how quiet your motor is! Omg I am so jealous hahaha, I think I will buy one 😅
@@saphire_kraken1670 Thank you. They are great machines. This was my very first TH-cam video. I have a much better video on this if you want to check it out. How To Maintain Your Flexshaft Handpiece th-cam.com/video/cvzgW8VrqTQ/w-d-xo.html I am happy to answer any questions and such that you might have.
Melissa Muir Hey Melissa, some of my mandrels spin within the receptacle of the handpiece. I use the Foredom quick-change handpiece. Do you think this is related to the need to lubricate/maintain the flexshaft? Or do you think my hand piece is broken or something?
+jaykay415 I would think that would be more of an issue with the handpiece. I have never worked with a quick change handpiece, so I am afraid I am not much help with that one. Perhaps you could call Rio Grande or Otto Frei and they may have an answer for you.
@DataRascal Okay, i just did a search and it looks like there might be another product called Liqui Moly. I haven't ever used it, but it might be something that is easier to get in Europe, not sure if it is easier to get in the UK. Contenti, Rio and Gesswein have the Foredom grease. Another option, I can can purchase it and ship it to you. Not sure the cost, but it is an option.
Hi, I´ve been using this for a long time. You can use any heat resistant grease such as the one used in bearings, Still I´ll stick with with a custom. Another extremely important step. is to eliminate the excess grease,( if you put to much, and it will ruing your handpiece bearings if you don´t) by leting it run for 10 min without the handpiece, I use a tiny jar and an handpiece cover (the screw and clip adapter) so the grease doesn´t spill around.
Shouldn't the outer part of the flex shaft be cleaned on the inside before you put that cable back in? I mean, if not then it's just mixing new grease with old grease... just sayin.

Thank you everyone. It was fun to do and I hope to make some more soon.
Thank you! I've been putting this off, but your video showed me that it doesn't look too bad. :)

+Melissa Muir Yes, good idea! I will call them after I do the lubrication (which I still haven't done, oh my!). Thank you!
Danielle, I do not know what the lubricant is made of. I will do some research and see if I can find out. Thanks for the great question.

Great video! I need to do this to mine! Do you know what you'd use as a lubricant if you don't have the Foredam lube?

Hey Keirie,
Great sound effects... You'll be ready for your own Tool VBLOG presentations just like Mommie real soon...
