There are several benefits to asset management. For one, it provides professional expertise and strategic planning, which can lead to better investment decisions.Additionally, asset managers can save clients time and reduce stress by handling the complexities of investing.
Recently, I've been considering the possibility of speaking with an asset manager. I need guidance because I'm an adult, but I'm not sure if their services would be all that helpful.
This was extremely useful and a way better, conducive format for long term memory. You broke down the various subjects in a lucid easy-to-follow manner! Thank you!
This is very useful for me, and you have a way of breaking things down in a very understandable manner. If you would do a similar video for other finance career paths, it would be very much appreciated, and I would show that to all my friends doing finance here in Sweden (Am currently enrolled in MFIN). I am writing down everything you say in order to soak up the knowledge.
Amazing video, would love to see more of this kind of content moving forward. I will probably find myself coming back to rewatch this video in the future
It's certain that this year will bring more challenging challenges. Looking back, I realized that I spent the entire previous year making expensive financial blunders because I was so consumed with worrying about my portfolio. I was forced to decide between raising my investments and purchasing a home. I discovered that the property I had bought needed more work than I had anticipated after deciding to sell my investments. It's becoming more difficult to determine how much longer I can take this.
Hi Afzal, I was wondering if you could explain the similarities and differences between working at a bulge bracket bank’s asset management division vs working at an asset management firm like Blackrock or Vanguard. Really enjoy your videos keep up the good work.👍
Bro you‘re Guide was very useful, especially the career path. Nevertheless, I am a Bit worried though to the fact, that if you Post a Guide like this for every Finance career, especially the popular ones like IB or PE, your products become a Bit useless. Even for me as a Highschool grad in Germany, who has Done a LOT of Research, was before very intrinsically questioned: „Shall i Buy it or not? Maybe there is some useful Information that i didn‘t know“ Now I am like „Ok thank you for that, i do Not Need to Buy it anymore because i know everything“ . And this a Major Problem. For me, as a Client is it perfect, But for you Not really because you don’t Generate enough income. Maybe it is useful for you. Have a nice Day and keep your work up 💪👍
I understand from your previous videos hedge funds are relatively similar to asset management with a few differences, but would it be applicable to roles in hedge funds?
I am 34 years old living in pakistan. I have retail branch banking experience of 9 years and two years experience working for a UK based asset management company that have a back office in pakistan as operations analyst overseeing the bank reconciliation and reporting area. I have a dream of working for a wall street firm. Could someone guide me to reach there?

Great video, Asset management involves managing investments on behalf of clients, including individuals, companies, and institutions.
The goal is to grow the client's portfolio through strategic investment choices across various assets like stocks, bonds, real estate, and more.
Exactly. Asset managers analyze market trends, perform risk assessments, and make investment decisions to maximize returns for their clients
They often have a deep understanding of financial markets and use that knowledge to optimize portfolios.

Great video. Maybe a short overview of the different index providers could also be interesting in terms of a career in asset management?

Yes. You can think of hedge funds as smaller asset managers that like to take more risk in order to achieve large potential returns.
Waiting for hedge fund & private equity firms.
could an engineer in an industry(ex oil and gas, shipping ) transition to assert management with an mba or msc in finance?
Definitely. But having a relevant qualification like the CFA would heavily increase the odds.
will you do a similar accelerator course for applying to summer internships as well?
Yeah most likely, if there's demand for it. Would it be something you'd find helpful?
definitely, ik quite a few that would also be interested
Cool. You can help me spread the word once it's ready 😉
