My Protestant mother firmly believes that God does not punish or that God is in charge of life. I’m a convert Catholic & I’m so blessed God opened my eyes, that the Blessed Virgin led me to Jesus & that Jesus has given us SO MANY WAYS to save us in the Church!!!

Jesus said that no one comes to me unless the Father calls him and in no way will he be cast out. There is only one way to be saved and that is to be saved from our sins by Christ’s death and resurrection. He ascended to God’s right hand the place of authority and poured out the Holy Spirit. Christ reigns, not Mary. God is in charge, not Mary.

We Catholics BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST! Protestants DON'T BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST IN HIS OWN WORDS! Mt.16-18-19, 1Cor.11:23-29, Jn.6:29-69. Lk.1:48; "ALL GENERATIONS TO COME SHALL CALL ME BLESSED" God is NOT jealous of Mary, Angels or Saints...They are NOT GODS!...But Our Most Blessed Virgin Mary Mary...IS, THE MOTHER OF GOD! We Catholics wholeheartedly believe that Jesus is the way! Protestants BELIEVE in the over 70,000 False, Man Made, Reformed, Heretical, Protestant, Religions and Churches that started with THEIR Father of Protestantism, (Martin Luther)...NOW, I DARE YOU AND ANY PROTESTANTS TO READ OUT LOUD Lk.1:48...COME, SAY IT! IT'S IN THE BIBLE...HYPOCRITES!

@@tedprice5828 Catholic believe that Mary is a human, but a human that is full of grace, meaning that she is holy, and all she does is call people to her son, our lord Jesus Christ. We worship Christ and we love his Mother Mary. We as humans can never love Mary more that Jesus does, because he is Devine,

@@tedprice5828 forgets that Jesus never worked even one miracle on earth until after His Mother Mary told the Cana wedding servers, "Do as He tells you." God--Jesus--complained that it was not yet his time. Mother Mary disagreed with God, and her intervention made it 'God's time. God is in charge, but He listens to Mary. Catholics praying to Mary for grace get what protestants are denied by God.

The stakes of free will is that there are no training wheels on existence. To be able to freely choose God there can be no limits on the consequences you can accrue. Thats why we needed the Savior.

Uh, that'll never ever work; you can only atone for *your own individual sins*, attempts to do so for the sins of *others* is to make yourself into God Himself, and that's *dumb* in the extreme; we do NOT do that, not once, not EVER, any faith that'd teach you to do *that* is teaching you to commit idolatry of yourself and must be abandoned, regardless of the cost!

@@katherinehickey6915 You can only attone for *your own personal sins*, trying to do so for the sins of *others* really *is* to commit the sin of Lucifer, and yes, it *is* Christ's own teachings that confirm that... any teaching that you *could* attone for the sins of others really is to claim that they didn't have any free-will and that you own *them*, a blatant heresy; no matter who or what teaches *that*.
In fact, any "god" who's missionaries have ever taught or even *hinted* that you could be made to answer for the sins of *others*, with the notable exception alone of having in some way *participated therein* really is the very devil itself- and any praising of *that* will automatically bring the individual who does so to Hell.
And those in Hell will NOT praise Him, nor would He want them to- as unwilling praise really is highly insulting to HIm.

Is national debt a generational sin? . . . I do not know who is more in debt - Canada or the USA - but think of it this way - people who aren’t even conceived, yet, will have to work to pay the debt that we are incurring right now. . . Do you think that’s fair? That just blows my mind. The evil of debt is way up there with the worst of evils. I don’t think people spend enough time thinking about this and the unfair burden we place on a generation that isn’t even in existence, yet.

I agree people do not spend enough time thinking about this, however God has a plan. I hope you can have peace about it. We are living in a time of so much lawlessness. Money spending & increasing debt is happening in record numbers. We are in a storm, we have to remember He's right here, I pray you stay in the present as the Lord is allowing these chastisements for a reason. Ponder Habakkuk chapter 2 may help.

This is a great topic. Thank you for going over this with discussion & using scripture. I've been praying a prayer for release from ancestral curses given by Fr. Jim Blount in one of his talks. He instructed to pray this for 144 days, which is a challenge in itself. I just put it on the wall across from my toilet after I messed up my count the 1st time, which sounds scrupulous. I doing my best here. Interestingly I found a similar prayer like this one in the book of Tobit. Do you have any thoughts on effectiveness of prayers like these? I don't "feel" any different but Fr. Jim said something to the affect that this prayer is worth a million bucks. (I love this priest).

This was an elightening discussion. I prefer the ancestral sin theology of my Greek Orthodox faith. Adam and Eve bear full responsibility for their personal sin (i.e.amartema), which is not passed down through the generations. Instead, humanity suffers death and corruption.

What the difference, doesn't original sin, means that we inherit death, that we die because of Adam and Eve fail , before the fail there was no death, also before the fail we could talk directly to god, maybe there is more to it, but I am not sure what is the different

Why then did the Vatican in 2019 have a priest exorcist and doctor of theology do a exhaustive study on this concept. He said it is a made up concept. He goes thru this idea thru and thru. And still we have people who are Catholic believing in this. I know a religious sister suffering from this deliverance ministry because they told her of all the stupid generational sins they believed were in her family. It’s absurd. It’s divinizatuon to believe you can draw this out of people. It opens the door for the devil to get in. And they are worse for it. And so are there families. Get it right It’s a new age heresy. I can’t even imagine God having these curses. We’re all doomed. Terrible terrible. Look up this document. Pray to the Holy Spirit. Quit promoting God as a curse we. He says it’s the father who sins will be punished not the son. Oh my word. It’s disastrous what’s going on today. A priest from oblates of st Joseph Esau’s and I quote. If any one wants to heal you of your family tree. Run for your life. They want to destroy your family. I’ve witnessed with my own eyes. Beware. Beware. Shepherds leading the flock astray.

  • @chissstardestroyer

Yeah, those premises are simply dumb and overtly heretical: there never was any generational spirits/generational sin; all sin is *personal*, specific to the *individual himself* and ONLY himself who commits it, original sin doesn't even count as *venial* in the Church's teachings.
