That is a HUGE complement to have Foo the Flowerhorn as a subscriber!!! I have always kept Bettas in my community tanks over the last 35 years and I found out quite quickly that given enough space they can and will live happily in groups. They also interact readily, and are not the mindless killing machines that pop-culture has painted them to be.
True.. And have a pack of females and 3 males and they all get along... They have even stopped flaring at each other (except the boss). Unfortunately I am thinking of giving a different tank to the senior male I have because I have noticed some torn fins which are finrot - still haven't made my mind up

Yes but different subspecies. They are all mixed.. Don't be hard on yourself, sometimes plants just don't wanna grow..!
