    Thank you so much for making this video. I'm a career EA with almost 12 years of experience including some at global tech companies but Google was still so overwhelming and intimidating to interview for! This video and your others on Googleyness and the hiring process were so helpful in me wrapping my head around what they wanted to get out of certain questions. It made thinking of examples so much easier and it really helped me to focus my responses. I got my offer last week and I'm so excited to start my adventure with Google! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

The recruiter said my feedback was great and that they would keep me on file if any future ABP jobs came into the queue - this was about three weeks ago... Do you think I should reach out to see if I would be a good fit for any new teams trying to hire ABPs?

    I searched “entry level” jobs on Google’s website and ABPs came up, but from the sound of this video it sounds like you need more experience. What is your thoughts on that? I’m trying to find positions to apply to at Google with not too much experience but definitely the personality and work ethic for it!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alyssa, great question. ABPs are typically not entry level roles. Search for roles that have the title Associate, this is usually a good indication they are L3 roles, good luck!

  • @olivia-in-progress17
    @olivia-in-progress17 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You mentioned that there is a lot of internal and external competition for these roles. Is it because the salary is higher than some other internal roles? Do you know how much ABPs usually make at google? There's limited amount of data out there about this. Also, is an ABP like an EA?

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Olivia-in-Progress, it is not because the salary is higher, it is because there are so many transferrable skills that could be applied to this role, especially by internal candidates. The pay depends on the level and market, but these roles do pay well. An ABP has some of the same functions as an EA, but the role also has a partnership/strategic element as well.

    Hello Jeff, if double booking a space is an issue, why did it happened in the first place? Is there a way to design a system to avoid such a problem from occurring? If a space is booked for an event, it should not allow me to book it twice for that same day. If we ask questions rathe running around to fix the same problem again again we will never fix the root of the problem. All your solutions sound good which I will do if I was faced with such a problem, but you did not address the root of the problem.

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eman, the assumption in this question is the venue that was double booked was an external venue.

    Thanks for this. I've applied and waiting to hear back on my application. Do you know what the salary band is in UK and dollars? I make £59K Per year. If I'm successful I'm hoping they can match or pay higher. I work in a similar role in UK government

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @experiencedbae, it really depends on level, but typically, they do not hire externally for this role at below an L4. In that case you would definitely make well over £100K in pounds in total compensation. This would include base, bonus, equity, and potentially a sign on bonus. But very safe to say that landing this role even at an L4 would double your current total compensation. Good luck!!

    Hi Jeff! I've been trying to get more salary data on the ABP role in my area. However most times HRBP is returned in my search. ABP seems to be more of a Google term. What's a comparative job title for the same role at comparable companies?

    • @jeffhsipepi

      irfan munir, it really depends on level, but I would try to negotiate as much as you can because in India, not enough candidates negotiate. I would imagine for the typical levels for these roles 5-6 million INR, but with a good negotiation maybe more.

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @user-pg2ib3ft2u, the most common level for an ABP is an L4, so an L4 ABP in Irvine would make a total comp in Year 1 in the low 200's.
