You ladies have to remember that Frank's son was killed, and they had a trial, but the guy got off. That trial may have taken up to 3 or 4 months, (as a retired Felon trials can take a bit) once he realized there was no justice for his kid, he knew the only way to get him was to wait for the Purge to get his revenge legally.
I think the first one caught general audiences by surprise. The 2nd wasn’t shy about wearing its politics on its sleeve. I imagine that makes up for a lot of the 50% score. Glad you guys enjoyed
I personally think it's the excessive shaky cam. Shaky cam is a pretty polarizing decision. I personally hate it, and find it extremely difficult to watch movies that utilize it, especially to this degree.
This is absolutely the best one, not just in terms of themes and story, but because it’s practically a Punisher movie! And Frank Grillo is bringing his absolute A game to this movie.
This second film is phenomenal and everything the first film should have been! It’s my favorite survival genre film of all time 🙂 I felt like I was traveling the 12 hours with them.
@@felix3033I agree it wasn’t as good as the rest minus the most recent purge the worse one was most definitely the last one “absolutely terrible!” 😂 the first purge at least had decent action scenes
I can't with Purge Daddy 😂😂😂. So glad you guys reviewed and loved this one, its a great, underrated movie IMO. PLEASE do the next one, we're here for it!!
Yall becoming my fav duo on this channel 😂😂 y'all awesome reacting together. This was actually a decent sequel i must say, def went more action oriented and less tension building/mood setting as the 1st one so a big change in mood that stands on its own without needing the original
@ReelRejects This is my favorite Purge movie and it baffles me how people hated on this movie. I think because they were trying to market it as horror movie…and it is more of an action movie. I absolutely love the story in this with how the characters connect to one another, their motivations, why they end up where they are at, etc. And how real this movie feels.
I was pleasantly surprised with how they expanded the universe in 2 and 3, and those movies are my favorite in the series. I thought 1 was a good and necessary movie to set up this world, but I enjoyed how they really dug into the classism and sociopolitical aspects that were only touched on in 1. I personally dislike gratuitous violence and, while this movie was definitely brutal, it was to highlight just how f'd up this universe is not to marvel at blood and guts and pain.
Yeah I was kinda like oh no super rich people getting killed and not caring about others around them like Bishop who can't afford protection like they can. It also just felt dragged out to me. 2 and 3 THE BEST
Can you 2 please start a podcast on this channel? Because whenever I see either of you I get excited. You guys are great and have the best voices to listen to. And getting you both in one video is great! I love you both! ❤❤❤
Tbh this is my least favorite out of all the purge movies. Mainly because other than the main dude- the rest of the supporting characters were annoying af and it felt like they made it his obligation to be their babysitter despite saving their lives once. Like they had a say in what he does despite making it his responsibility for saving them. Which is why the purge Election Day was my favorite as most of the characters were likeable
The notion that the average citizen actually isn't willing to purge, so the government does it and makes it seem like regular ppl are was a great twist
Thank you for reacting to this film! It’s my favorite survival film of all time and the ending is beautiful to me 🙂😊 I loved your reactions SO MUCH when the saving squad and Carmelo Jones came in and rescued everyone! 😊 I agree it was an emotional scene. I also like how you guys knew really early on in the apartment scene that something was off! That’s one of my favorite scenes too. Btw this film actually has the best rating of all the Purge films across both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. In my opinion though, Rotten Tomatoes is a terrible indicator of how a film is and those critics tend to be biased and treat thriller/horror films negatively even when they are actually decent and great (a good recent example is Five Nights at Freddy’s where the critics score was 29% but the Audience Score was 88%)
Fun Fact: This film was inspired by John Carpenter’s Escape from NY which is one my favs and worth checking out. This is also my personal fav purge movie!!!! And Frank Grillo is so underrated.
I love me some Roxy and Tara lol they are so funny I love the first purge, anarchy, and election year. to me they are the best in the franchise I wasn’t totally mad at forever purge the idea was okay.
i love the points yall made especially the one about the people delivering people to the Purgers... I didn't even THINK about the nuance with their dilemma and choices. "They're doing this so that they also don't become bait." 🤯
Great reaction ladies! Loving the Purge Daddy & the return of the purge pillow. 😁🤣 _Election Year_ is a great one in the Purge series too (probably my favourite one so far).
until tara said it didn't dawn on me the homeless man was with them, i knew he came back for the sequel just couldn't place him, also the women friend's name is, tanya not talia lol.
You two are great reactors. Fun and insightful and you don’t talk too much or too little. Perfect balance. It’s an art to reacting, and everybody is not good at it.
As far as I know, Frank Grillo wasn't in the military, but he has huge respect for our troops. He IS a high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, and his hand-to-hand skills are solid and on point. I love these films, and I love your reaction Ladies!❤
The Purge: Anarchy did a great job of giving overview of the not-so-distant future of how society falls due to class and economic warfare while policies favor the criminals, rich and powerful while everyday people both middle and poor are targeted in order to justify genocide. Jigsaw put it best when saying who lives or dies. But to me, it's who lives in peace, prosperity and productivity and who dies in poverty, anguish, depression and loneliness.
Season 2 of the tv show is exactly what you’re looking for in terms of seeing the mechanics of this universe and of the purge during the non-purge days of the year. The tv show was brilliant for the world building aspect, and really deserved more than two seasons.
This one and the one called The First Purge are my favorites, and to me are the best ones. They both truly show the chaos that would really happen and are more believable then the others. The First Purge is such a good prequel to show who they really would target first, if you know the plot you know what I mean.
That’s why if I lived in this world. I’d get camping gear and leave to go 100+ miles away from a city like LA into the woods in the middle of nowhere where I’ve build a safe place!!
The most ironic thing about this whole "purge daddy" moniker is that they don't know that he literally is a "purge daddy" in the most literal sense and they didn't even know it lol. Dudes only reason for beim on the street is to be a "purge daddy" or a daddy purging for their son. On a side note theirs a purge series that only ran one season but it really opens up on showing parts of purge night that they can't show in a 2 hour format...from ppl robbing banks during purge night, to a whole purge carnival where u can imagine what happen at a purge carnival. one of those places like the hotel in John wick where "no bullshit goes down while ur on our property" and the fuckery only goes down in a bunch of pre designated carnival "purge game booths" and again u can use ur imagination on what kind of sick purge carnival games that exist lol.. overall it's a pretty fascinating expansion on the "purge night all around the U.S"..rather than one isolated location, city, ect.. u see all different corners of what happens around the world on purge night..u can assume ppl get pretty damn creative. It's been awhile since I saw it but from what I remember it jumps around a few different groups of ppl in different settings that are all pretty different and there is one storyline that kinda threads all those ppl together by the end (for the most part, NOT all of them). There's also a pretty fascinating arc involving 911 call center/emergency service workers on that night which was really intriguing. There are vollenteers who spend purge night acting as ems essentially since the government shuts legitament ems down for the night..so its a group of ppl who risk their lives to run a mobile E.R of sorts and theye unofficially "off limits" where most ppl won't attack or harm those vollenteers! That's just one of the arcs I specifically remember along with a bank hiest arc, cuz u gotta remember ALL crime is legal not just murder n sadism. So any loot u get on purge night is "safe". The other arc I recall is from the pov of daughter of one of the "new founding fathers" politician, who are ALL sadistic and purge the rich ppl way but she is like "normal" and is stuck at this posh rich person murder party that she doesn't wanna be at lol..
I think I watched this movie first thinking this was the first one 😅 I also love that you keep calling him Purge Daddy. Anyway, this is making me want to rewatch the other purge movies.

THE 1st film was a dull because they wanted what the concept was selling not a stupid "RICH FAMILY BATTLE HOME INVASION" BORING bs

@@mantism.d.8363is interesting how vrains work because I never even notice shaky cam until someone mentions it. Yes, it's definitely polarizing
Yeah. And it's kinda wild that Tara and Roxy immediately fall in line. Especially when the events run counter to the messaging.
Anarchy and election year are the best in the series imo. Hope you guys watch and enjoy the rest too!
Agreed! But someone get Tara a purge pillow please so she can defend herself! 😂
Omg yes I totally agree!
Definitely agree I love those two
My favorite is The First Purge
The one titled The First Purge is my favorite in the bunch
This is absolutely the best one, not just in terms of themes and story, but because it’s practically a Punisher movie! And Frank Grillo is bringing his absolute A game to this movie.
Bring these two back for the rest of the series please if you can. It’s a good saga and I want to see how they react to them
Low key a lil dope ass duo
I love how Tara points out the pink and blue color they used in the movie. Then i immediately notice her and Roxy are in pink and blue chairs! 😁
Tara & Roxy = Legendary duo
Do you prefer this one or the first one?
I like all of them as a whole
This is my favorite one in the series tbh
This second film is phenomenal and everything the first film should have been! It’s my favorite survival genre film of all time 🙂 I felt like I was traveling the 12 hours with them.
Second is the best they did in my opinion
I like the whole the purge series but Anarchy is my Top 1 while Election Year is my second.
Roxy: "Oppressed people, oppress people"
Ladybug from Bullet train: "Hurt people, hurt people"
This was another great reaction and full of content 👍💯
This movie is good and I prefer this movie over the first one! Frank Grillo is good in this movie! 👍
Yes he would’ve made a perfect batman or punisher & he proves that with this movie & the next one
The first purge is garbage . The worst one of the franchise
@@felix3033I agree it wasn’t as good as the rest minus the most recent purge the worse one was most definitely the last one “absolutely terrible!” 😂 the first purge at least had decent action scenes

I vote that reel rejects makes a new shirt design called “purge daddy” with a picture of Frank grillo on it

The most accurate to the comic books for sure. Looks exactly like him.
