This airport is always a fond memory for me from when I was stationed over at Bolling AFB across the Anacostia in the early 1970s. Back then, U.S. Airways was Allegheny Airlines.
@@pilerks1 I’m not saying they haven’t, I’m just saying they normally don’t because the minimum takeoff rating on those is about 9000 feet and DCA has a 7000 foot runway. In fact the reason all the ramp agents were out filming it on the video you sent was because it is so rare to see one of those at DCA Not saying it hasn’t happened just saying that they don’t fly them there a lot because it’s really hard.

Wow! I remember watching those landings back in 2010. Always wanted to try that :D
Coolest Landing so far!!
The approach into DCA is always a fun one. Lots of turning and winding along the river and good views of the national mall if you come in Runway 01.
Daaaamn, that turn!
Yay your back :D
Yeah this happened when I arrived at dc. Life flashed before my eyes when you could see the ground directly below
Yea i flew the SRQ to DCA route and the final turn on the river visual approach rlly scared me lmao
You need to sit on left hand side!!!
Looks busy there
This is challenging.... but doing it with those weirld embraer yokes.... +rep.
Is that a 767 6:06
Cherries 757
That’s a 757, a 767 could not operate at DCA as the runway is too short
@@introvertairways This was a 757 in this video, but 767s have flown from dca before
