    Q3 premium plus costs like 35 lacs in USA and in India it costs 52 lacs, So it's almost a price raise of 20 lacs in India. Keep in mind that you aren't getting any additional benefits for paying extra 20 lacs in India. You are just paying more money for taxes. The pricing is all messed up. A 30 lac price range product is a 60 lac product in India. So basically we are using the word "luxury" for cars that are just basic in International market. I think we deserve better than this. I am a huge car lover and I became an entrepreneur to be able to afford luxury cars like these but when I learned how rigged the pricing is, it broke my heart.

      The Indian Tax systems for automobiles is one of the absolute worst I have ever come across. The government wants a large chunk of any money you spend regardless of where you spend it. In India you cannot be a normal well to do person who can easily afford such cars as in other countries. Either you are ultra rich or you just bite the bullet and pay 40-50% more for a product that is considered "normal" elsewhere. Absolutely ridiculous. As a bike and car enthusiast, this is one of the big problems that makes me want to move abroad. Unnecessary rules, regulations, taxes and bans.

    • @S.I.M.PforSPEED
      @S.I.M.PforSPEED ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Majority of that is due to the insanely high taxation. 28 percent GST in India vs 1-9 percent in the US depending on which state you are.

      @@darshansangawar5471 That's the plan, but until you are there you should carefully make your moves. You can do so much more with that money you save that would be wasted otherwise on pointless taxes.

But the production value ... oof. They top themselves every single time. The shot and the font at 0:21. The sound effect and transition at 1:28. Same thing at 5:34. Motorinc is my main auto channel now so I don't know the specs of most new vehicles. I like the format but it would be nice if you mentioned engine specs. I dunno how my cylinders the previous version had, was it four? That means it has 5 now and that's great. Or did it have 3, and now it has 4 which should be the standard at that price. And how many horses does it have? It lacks a lot of modern features that cars at half its price have so it better make up for that with performance.
    One thing I like about the luxury brands is that their cars may be less reliable than cheaper brands, so you have to visit service centers often but the way they treat you there makes you feel like a king. They'll offer you coffee and snacks at short intervals and everybody is always smiling. You'll be paying for all of it in the end but it's worth it. Compare that to a Maruti showroom / service center where they'll be disappointed in you for showing up even to buy a car.

The conclusion I could draw from my experience that it is not worth anymore to buy such cars at this range anymore. If you want a luxury car with top class features then 85 Lakhs onwards should be the range. Due to such incremental taxes in recent times, It is just not worth it. That's my opinion.

    I got to experience Audi q3 2017 for a month time. Car missed basic features like reverse camera to begin with. It does feel luxurious in traffic until BMW X1 and Mercedes A or B class arrives. Buying a car for high price due to heavy taxes might be okay at one time but Service cost is on higher side too at an authorised service centre. Met with a minor accident and matrix headlamp got a minor crack because of some other person fault. Showroom quoted a price of around 2 lac+ for a single pair of lamp. That's a bump

Q3 misses on rear seat comfort of kodiaq and many features if that bothers you. Where Q3 shines is performance, which is very much different given that they have same DNA. Kodiaq is a saloon, and hence q3 feels more ajile and smooth and peppy. Also kodiaq has adjustable dampers, which on its soft most setting are not as good as q3's comfort suspension without selective dampers. Q3's comfort suspension are a league ahead and thats what making me buy one.

    Due to its lack of features, I am hesitant to call it a "luxury" car. If you don't have Android Auto/Car Play/basic infotainment features, is it still luxury? Is it just the engine? I, personally, won't go after a "luxury" tag just for the sake of it.
    Also, we have established that Indians are not cheap. They want value for the money they are paying. Is this VFM for you?

    • @motorinc
      @motorinc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mayank! Is luxury features? Not for us. And the way a vehicle drives plays a big part here. Also we have aspirations and these are often tied to the brand. And, yes more equipment should be offered. But the Q3 is special because of how it drives. Luxury will always demand more. 🤷‍♂️

    Sadly these luxury cars don’t excite me anymore.
    1. Maybe cos they dont feel special anymore as they are so common, there is a merc, bmw and audi parked almost everywhere.
    2. They dont justify the price. Ridiculous pricing nowadays. I remember when we got the delivery of my brother’s Q7 in 2016, that was priced at ₹80L for the technology. Now its the same price u pay for a q5. Specially the lower models like q3 and a4 are priced insanely these days.
    3. Constant anxiety of getting scuffed up in traffic or more recently getting caught in a flash flood as most of the tech are underneath the car.
    4. Kia ev6 and ioniq5 makes just more sense than these luxury brands. No ?
    5. Motorcycles are far far more exciting !

I was really lucky I got a good taste of all luxury without spending a dime on them. 😂 but i know at what cost luxury comes.
      And trust me they are more pain then gain.
