@4:26 "The Terrorists were defeated" The whole airport was destroyed in the process! I can see why that police chief was so upset with the grievances about his unit. But If things have escalated and intensified to the point where you need to call in the power armored special unit, then you should be expecting a little property damage! :D LoL!
Its such a shame that after the Neo Arc City incident in 2004 the governments of the worlds banned all robot suits, humanoid robots, and flying motorcycles across the world. The police and armed forces were so futuristic looking now after the development of this tech took only a couple of years. Then they had to get back to decades old style equipment and fighting vehicles. Heh I find it amusing that the designer of the game imagined this futuristic world being possible in within the span of fourteen years. Reading that this game was released in 1990 actually surprises me. You could convince me that this was a game released in 1995 to 1997. Even know it still looks pretty good for a side scrolling shooter game. Also hats of to you reflexes Al82. How long did you have to practice on this game to get this good.
Well most Arcade Hardware of the mid-late 1980s was way more advanced and powerful than the consoles released at the same time (SNES, Mega Drive & PC-Engine) even years later, as we saw the SEGA Saturn in 1995 struggle with the Super Scaler Hardware ports like Galaxy Force, After Burner, Outrun & Space Harrier running at half the frame-rate with heavy slowdowns and many CPS-2 2D Beat Em Ups missing a ton of animation frames on the PS1 as late as 1997 and the Saturn needing 4MB expansions to compensate. So this kind of graphics and performance wasn't that surprising for 1990 even for mid 1980s really. As for this futuristic world being possible in within the span of fourteen years, remember that this was the time Robocop 1 & 2, Terminator 1 & 2 and various other sci-fi that envisioned similar near-future dystopian megalopolis' and worlds with similar technologies, so this game is obviously based on them.
They thought that the technological progress would be so fast that we would be a sci-fi utopia at this point in the end of the 90s . It was a positive perspective overall and in some degree understandable but now we see what real progress we actually made and its underwhelmong and dissapointing right now .
@@Snyperwolf91 YEah, they had such high hopes for the 21 century in the mid 20th century. They must be so disappointed with the dire and dystopian mess the world is at the moment and with all that dark backward woke lunatic BS that plagues western societies today!
That police chief needs to chill and look at the bigger picture. If you've gotten to the point where you need to call in the power armoured special unit then you should be expecting a little property damage. Also Neo Arc city has a lot of Cloting stores. The haemophilia capital of the world?
Almost every police themed work made in the 70s, 80s, and 90s always had a hot-headed chief. I mean, look at Chief Sterns from the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for example.

The sequel is like this as well. I believe if you die during or after the self destruct sequence, when you’re escaping, you can’t continue and it’s an automatic game over.
My face reading the description about the art , especially noticing it's from Namco: 🙂 My face reading the description about the gameplay (even though, yeah, it's an arcade game so it's probably going to be hard, but still...): ☹
Ah yes, the far off future of 2004! I remember dropping so many quarters into this game when it came out.

I used to love this game! Played it whenever I got the chance. Too bad it never got a home port.
Awesome video! Thanks for posting.
Loved light gun games in the arcade. I've never seen this one before.
I can see both Terminator and Robocop and maybe those cop partner movies too as inspiration in this game.
Chips vs the Terminator, I guess
Great game gun times at the arcade.😎👍

Tony Stark Must've Gotten It...Hard,
"Anybody Learned Something From My Bodyguard's Personal War Against Hammer's Private Army?"
The whole aesthetic changes in the sequel. The enemies are more bio mech Guyver looking.

I've played a lot of rail shooters on MAME, and they already have this game at Galloping Ghost Arcade.

Awesome! So does this use a modified version of SEGA's Super Scalier Arcade Hardware?!
Nope. It uses Namco's own very versatile scaling and rotation heavy arcade board, the Namco System 2
