Jenn: Keeping your pencils well sharpened also help to deposit the pigment deep into those depressions without using much pressure on your pencils. Great video.
Good video, thank you. Will you please do a demonstration of the crosshatch and tonal shading; it would be so useful for those of us who are intimidated and struggling. I appreciate your videos so much!
Love this, can't wait to try it. Problem right now most of my coloring pages has very small areas for coloring and not sure if I can use this technique on those pages. But looking around for pages that I can use it. So excited to try it.
+Patricia Folks (Penink3) you could try this week's coloring challenge that I announced today... facebook.com/ColoringPagesBliss/videos/1173791085993663/
What a wonderful Video and of cause I love your little dog. He is sooo cute 💓 What do you think about mixing Polychromos and Prisma Colors? What's better to put on first? Both Brends are great but It's not as easy as it seems to mix them together. Please can you make a Video of the difference between Oil and Wax based Crayons? The Shading work's great with both brands. Best Wishes Marita 💖🎃
I had a lot of trouble with my Prismacolor pencil laying down smoothly on this mixed media paper. I was so surprised because that had never happened before. Was it because of the " tooth".? I have the same book as you., by Canson.
+Katherine Haught, sometimes a paper can have too much tooth or maybe for your style of coloring a paper doesn't work. For instance...if you are heavy handed with your pressure and you are using a very toothy paper, then a prismacolor pencil will lay down a large amount of pencil very quickly, leaving little to no room for you to blend and layer. Try experimenting with different pencil holds and pressures to see if you get a better result. You can also try the paper I recommend in a previous video that has a little less tooth. Good luck.
Hi Jennifer, absolutely love your videos you are totally AWESOME, and you explain everything so that it is easy to understand, not like some of the other instructors that think their entire audience of viewers are well advanced or professionals and then completely skip anything useful for beginners. I just cam across your you tube site about 2 months ago, and haven't seen all your videos yet so I have not heard you mention Inktense pencils by Derwent. They are wonderful, they are ink not wax or water so they dry permanent, but they are activated with water. They are easy to blend and shade and although once dry the color will not move and not correctable, you can color over top once dry, the dry color will still be there, and the new color adds a beautiful effect. Just don't recommend getting them at Michaels they charge like 89.99 for a 24 or 48 pc set, but you can go on Amazon and get the entire 120 piece set in a tin or a wooden box with magnet bars to keep them from rolling around for under 100.00. They are used very much like watercolor pencils but because it is ink the colors are much more vibrant, and can be applied light or dark. I'm sure you have probably tried them already, but not seen them in any of your videos yet. Thanks again for such wonderful, awesome and informative videos you have me hooked.

I'm having a hard time imagining how to do the crosshatching you're showing in that circle. A demo would be nice.
Thank you for making this series!! But what about a "season 2" of this series going into other things like highlights, backgrounds ect.
+Journaling Booknerd, you are not the first to suggest a season 2. Thanks for the suggestions...I am working on it! 😊
