I’m glad you think so. I really want people to know they can do it even without having a lot of money! It takes time lots of time haha to get a full vintage wardrobe but I don’t think it’s necessary to have at all! It’s fun but it’s also really fun and satisfying to use your creativity and create a vintage inspired look with what you have. 💖💖 so much love to you, babe! Keep being amazing

I've always wanted to dress vintage so I've been doing some research lately and surprise! it seems like everyone likes 30-50's or 80's and 90's and almost no one dresses to the 60-70's and I swear the other channels/insta profiles don't come close to yours! I'm basically taking inspiration from all your hauls to plan my outfits (I say plan but It's not like I'm going anywhere cause I'm staying at home ) sooo thanks a lot Devyn!

I am lucky because my grandma saved almost all her clothes from the 70s, half of my wardrobe is my grandmas clothes...

I love going "shopping" in my grandma's closet! Lol my favorite of her old clothes is her "rhinestone cowboy" fringed jumpsuit from the 70s. It's so mich fun to dress up and dance around in

It was already diffucult to me since in my city it's hard to find clothes and acessories that matches with my style (a casual Goth who sometimes dresses into retro fashion)
And this Quarantine, shopping online isn't the same as thrifting :/
I've now started lurking depop because I miss it, but I hate not being to try on vintage before I buy it. I'm so busty its hard to find things that fit!

I've recently come out of a years-long stint of depressive episodes and I've found so much peace in your videos. Don't get me wrong, mental illness will always be something that just sneaks back to me, but recently I've found my confidence through exploring my interests and your videos are giving me the inspiration and freedom to explore this part of myself more. Thank you so much for your videos and advice, I really needed this video since income is pretty scarce right now cuz ya know-global pandemic and all.
Sounds crazy but i moved my bed directly under my window. It has been lifechanging!! No longer do i suffer from insomnia. I use to fall asleep but wake hourly. Now i sleep through and wake rested with the sun
I can't describe it but it has really made me happier. Its no cure for depression but it has increased my quality of life. I open up my drapes in all my rooms too and sit in the yard for an hour. Hope you continue to increase joy and happiness daily!!
I literally had a depressive episode today and thought "once I get home, I'm gonna shower and then put on a devyn video while I moisturize and chill out." I just love the vibes

This is what I do, I style modern clothing to look vintage, because I find modern clothes fit better, (I also like vintage-inspired clothing). I like to buy vintage jewelry and accessories to make my modern clothes look vintage. Etsy is my friend. :)
Amber Greene I agree. You really have to pay attention to the measurements when buying vintage online and even then I’ve had some pieces not fit right.
Same, I have a hard time finding vintage that fits my body type that also is something I want to wear. Vintage accessories can really help make a look

I just wanna know how you paint on your lower lashes so perfect. I did it yesterday and it looked great but I went through 52 Q-tips and now my eyes are scabbed from all the rubbing/erasing and removing and starting over.
Ouch! I'm no expert and you may be doing this already, but I do each "lash" in a dark eye shadow with my thinnest make up brush. It's a lot easier to remove than liquid eyeliner or kohl, then once you're done you could go over it in eyeliner :)

my dad had the most amazing 70s suede coat... high quality you could trace your name in it, thick thick wool lining i loved wearing it, then one day mum took it to the charity store. I hope someone still has it and is wearing it. Clothes are so shapeless these days, people look like piles of washing, even trendy people don't have much with any shape anymore, or colour or texture. i think it's great you are doing this, hope ppl get inspired

You should totally make a video of people sending you images of clothes and then explaining how you would style them somehow with images or your own clothes! I would stop getting rid of things in my closet for sure...

This is great! I am looking to get back into 60s/70s again. I was a teen during the 90's "60s-70's revival" and took FULL advantage of it. It was a great time for me because I was a hardcore Beatlmaniac! I wanted nothing more than to look like Patty Boyd! (Who am I kidding? I still do. lol) I bought 70's bell bottoms and stovepipes (flares) from thrift stores and my mom was a 70s teen so she gave me whatever accessories she had left.
I admit I've fallen into the "fast fashion" craze but I'm the type who wears all her clothes almost threadbare so I get my money's worth lol So this is very helpful!
I can't remember if you've really talked about it because I watch all your vids, but have you covered 60s-70s eyewear? Like you, I don't need glasses but I am looking into blue light glasses and I love my sunglasses. I've been wearing cats eye sunglasses for maybe a decade now so I'm looking for a change!

I'm so happy you showed some glasses because I wear glasses, and while I picked some really vintage inspired frames that I think look fantastic, I don't see them styled with 60's/70's looks a lot! Also thank you for recommending dpHUE, I tried it on my bleached midlengths and ends and my hair took on that beautiful reddish tone that I love in yours!

I think the easiest mod look is just a black turtleneck, white miniskirt, a newsboy cap (the ones the beatles and pattie Boyd wore), and Mary Jane shoes or go-go boots
Probably those color blocked black and white earrings would do too
If you don’t have a miniskirt, layering a turtleneck under a minidress is nice too hope this helps

I love the chunky heels cos they're comfy and you can walk in them, comparing to the 80s stilettos, that kind of kill your feet after three hours lol 😂

But I have to stress that the problem with fast fashion isn't 'just' the environmental impact but the mistreatment of workers-mainly women- who are treated appallingly. Children are forced to work! Which is just wrong! Please, don't buy fast fashion or from the companies. There's online secondhand shops and sewing really really isn't that hard to learn if you can't afford sustainable brands ( which are only expensive because they pay their workers!!!!). ✌✌✌✌

She isn't a dress up doll, if you like the style then YOU can wear it!! You could show her an old pic of some fashionable people in the 60s/70s and say something like "woah I love how they dressed back then, what do you think of that style?". Anything more than that and you'll be saying you don't like the way she dresses.
