Paul Weller is a legend in the UK and is affectionately known as "The Modfather". He was the front man for The Jam and Style Council. By and large most fans gravitate to The Jam days as that's where he started and made his name....but personally I do prefer the Style Council era. Why don't you check his stuff out and let us know what you prefer?!
I love the Jam, but there would be. Noel’s always said it was the Manchester scene in the 80’s such as Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Smiths, Joy Division etc aswell as the beatles which sort of inspired him✌🏼
Oh wow! Paul Weller, the modfather! From the 1970' s he was a major influencer of British music. From the Jam, The Style Council and his highly acclaimed solo career.... he is one of the most soulful, amazing singers in Uk history.
One of Paul Weller's best solo songs is Broken Stones, from the album "Stanley Road", and from the same album, " Changing Man" is great too. Both are worth a reaction. With The Jam he was SO good, plus in all his other musical excursions.
You have heard at least a little of Paul Weller. He has guested on a couple of Oasis tunes - he played the solos on Champagne Supernova and The Swamp Song. Backing musicians here are Terry Kirkbride (drums, from a band called Proud Mary) and Gem Archer (Oasis, obviously). Think I mentioned this on another of your videos of Noel covering The Smiths, this is from the same show as that, look up the live album "The Dreams We Have As Children"
Paul Weller is a very good friend of Noels. And he also was an idol of Noels, too. :) Like Johnny Marr - childhood idols of Noels who've become close friends.
you probably know by now Rob but if you loved getting into Oasis then your gonna LOVE discovering The Jam..Mr. Paul Weller is basically on the same level as David Bowie for songwriting longevity and variety in his music for the last 40 odd years..yes FORTY..The Jam are the best 3 piece power pop r+b punk mod band u'll ever listen to.
Best ever B side/flip side to a 7" single ever........Beautifully written by a teenage Weller....The irony is , some of todays teenage touchy types have suggested it has some sexist connotations????
Hi rob , have you seen Keep What Youve Got? By Ian brown ( stone roses lead singer) & Noel Gallagher . Noel did the music & Ian wrote the melody & lyrics ✌🏻enjoy

If Paul Weller is the Modfather then who was Steve Marriott and the other Small Faces? The original Modfathers? The Mod Grandfathers?
Yeah, Beth, you're probably right, as long as there's a hierarchy of time and music and a 1st and 2nd etc, then it just is, what it is. Everything is.
There’d be no Oasis without The Jam.
I love the Jam, but there would be. Noel’s always said it was the Manchester scene in the 80’s such as Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Smiths, Joy Division etc aswell as the beatles which sort of inspired him✌🏼
