Hi hello. I did not use a limit switch, but that would be a good idea. The motor just spins for 6 seconds, so there is no position feedback of any kind. If the curtain reaches the end of the rod or gets blocked somehow, the string just slips on the pulley because it is not on very tight.
@@fluxwood May I know what type of rope do you use? I used cotton rope and I looped it around the pulley few times.When the servo rotates, the rope that I looped around the pulley get tangled which cause the string to stop moving.
@@agirlhasnonameeeeee I am using Dacron fishing line - it isn't particularly special, I just have a lot of it laying around. It sounds like you are getting tangles because there is no enough tension and the string is falling off the pulley? You should also have another free-spinning pulley at the other end of the line.
