My first castlevania was curse of darkness, my favorite castlevania overall is harder to pin down. On the metroidvania side of things I'd have to say Aria of sorrow is my favorite with Dawn of sorrow being a close second. Out of the classic style castlevanias, while I have not gotten close to completing all of them yet out of the ones I have completed or gotten close to I have to say my favorites are haunted castle revisited, via the Dominus collection, and Castlevania adventure rebirth. I obviously lean towards the metroidvania side of the series but I do love the original classic style games..... Despite how much I absolutely suck at them. The castlevania anime....... It does have certain things it does well but the writing and what they've done with certain characters just royally pisses me off...... I just absolutely refuse to touch nocturne, besides watching scenes on TH-cam, as a result. And out of the various collabs that you have mentioned castlevania doing in recent years, easily the best one is the ode to castlevania DLC for vampire survivors. It is such an amazing love letter to the series that if you enjoy vampire survivors it is absolutely a must play. ( And an absolute steal on the price.)

I would definitely recommend setting up a PS2 emulator and giving Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness a shot. They are flawed, but a lot of fun regardless, and the music is some of the best in the entire series. The depiction of Dracula's origins in the former is much better than you make it sound, and as for the latter, I'll never forgive the anime for how they massacred my boy Hector. Also, if the Metroidvania titles are too easy for your liking compared to the classics, then Order of Ecclesia is the game for you.
You say that you'd want a Castlevania 3 remake to have infinite lives. It already has infinite lives? Every game in the series does minus Haunted Castle and MSX Dracula IIRC. ..and regarding bloodlines, the limited continues were a decision of the American port. The Japanese original game has unlimited continues.

Konami completely abandoned console gamers and went full gambling games with pachinko games in japan and full slot machines for america. Unfortunately, while we gamers look at them as a failed gaming studio that got rid of its most creative director its actually winning in the gambling space. Their slot cabinets are everywhere in vegas and indian casinos across the USA and Pachinko machines in japan. Unfortunately for us gamers, they just decided to chase a different type of money.😢

Just buy the fucking games, dont worry about how many copies you have. Digital or tangible. Just by them again. Its not like they are asking for a fortune.

I'm more for the Classicvanias. The NES games are the best in the series. 4 is good, but too easy. Don't bother with Nocturne, woke trash, couldn't get past the 3 rd episode.

Every classicvania takes 1-2 hours to clear if you're good and the metroidvanias are like 25 hours tops unless you grind and try to go for 100%. Theyre not 100+ hour RPG epics like Xenoblade or Persona, you can easily finish the entire series in only a few months. You don't even like the metroidvania games, which is 90% of the series. Outside of remakes there hasn't been a true classicvania since RoB since very few people these days are willing to pay full price or even budget price for a 1-2 hour 5 or 6 stage long platformer. That was only acceptible in the 90s when most people rented games instead of buying them and got phased out outside of cheap handheld and indie PC games by the PS2 era. I sort of agree with SotN. The game is very poorly balanced with too many OP strats that break the game, the reverse castle is poorly designed, and the controls and physics are clunky compared to the other metroidvanias. While the scope of SotN is huge, its imo one of the weaker metroidvania games gameplay wise due to these gameplay flaws in spite of the stellar presentation and large scope. But yeah, you know nothing about this series. You've played almost none of the games, you know none of the lore, you dislike 90% of the series, you would rather have another Lords of Shadow game with more crappy sony modern game elements (movie games) than a new castlevania metroidvania like we have been asking for since 2007. You're not a fan. You've only watched the netflix series (a TERRIBLE adapation past S2) and played some of the old school games. I dont even know why you're even making this video.
They won't. The lore already exists and can't be retconned unless they make another reboot, which isn't what the fans want. Plus, Soma can already change genders with his domination magic when dominating the souls of certain female monsters (Durga Soul in AoS and Valkyrie Soul in DoS) and there's an enemy type in SotN that's canonically transgender (the light witches in the reverse castle caverns, though the language for them is outdated in both the PSX and PSP versions) in the main series. Alucard isn't gay (he was canonically in a relationship with Maria Renard) and Carmilla wasn't a lesbian. (her sexuality is either straight or bi since she flirts with the male MCs a lot in multiple games) Castlevania is far from an overtly LGBT+ series, but it's there, albiet very slightly. I doubt they'll change characters sexualities or genders in new games if they get made since the next game will likely be Castlevania 1999 which will have a young Julius Belmont as a protagonist and likely Alucard and Mina's mother as alternate playable characters. The might have LGBT characters in there's games set in the far future, however. (sci-fi Castlevania with a new dark Lord)
