hi, thanks for watching, i use fondant treated with cmc to ad firmness, you could also use gum paste or tylose powder in fondant to achieve the same results. hope this helps for more info please visit www.couturecakeclub.com. thanks

Is fondant and gum paste the same thing? If not, what's the difference?

Gumpaste is indeed fondant but with the addition of Tylose Powder to it to make it dry out faster and its easier to manipulate without breaking, tearing etc for example making flowers as b chatman said
