Great pattern Paul! Very inspirational tying as always. Thank you. I would love to see your creative thoughts on a realistic frog pattern? All the best, Alan.
@@paul_monaghan I think you should consider to try it seriously because I'm pretty sure you would be surprised !! I'm gonna tye and try one on northern pikes of my prefered French waters ;D
Just seen that thread break too lol you got lucky, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wasted clumps of deer hair from it breaking on the tension wrap
I love tying mouse patterns for trout and never thought about articulating them. The only issue I’d find is after tying this is not wanting to throw it, losing it after a 45 minute tie would be heartbreaking. Awesome pattern, man and I’ll be sure to tie a few of them for my “big game” box
I have problems with it flipping over when stripping it. It tips on its belly most of the time. Plz advise. I’ve tried wire and flouro leaders. Same issue. Thnx
That is a great looking pattern. The ears are a nice touch, very realistic. Have you had many pike on it. Like the look of your set up, would you recommend the Vision gear? I have been looking at the Keeper Peto looks good for the price
Been tying them similar to this but scaled down a bit for trout and with a foam head for the last couple years. Deadly for browns after dark. I'll send ya a couple if you want to give them a try.
Thank you so very much for the great video!! However, I don't in any way mean to be rude or Sarcastic, yet I had to mute the audio, as your choice of Rock music, is very rowdy, and not at all harmonious, with fly tying!! Fly tying (since I began in 1978), puts me in a Tranquil mood, when accompanied with soft Jazz/Rock/Blues/soul, or no music at all)!! But as they say, "to each his/her own"!!
It will be a fantastic fly for taimen and Huchen (Hucho hucho) These two guys seems to fed on rodents. Seriously, your wife don't kill you when you have finish to work with such amount of deer hair? Lol, Congratulations great pattern, I use another pattern but rodents are great preys for large predator fishes.
You're realy a great artist, SUPERB!!!
Wow what a tying art! And a nice inspiration too!
This is absolutely amazing mate. I can’t wait to try this one. Never tied with deer hair before so this will be a good one to test me for sure! 😍👌👌

Absolutely great pattern and design ! I'm stunned !!! Congrats for that great tying !!! I'm gonna try it ! And I subscribe of course !!
It was just a bit of fun. I wouldn't fish it seriously 🤣

I’d throw this at musky over all the flies I’ve tied for them any day! Great fly man!

To be honest this is a show fly and very rarely fish it.
Thank you man awesome work best rat pattern
Ah fun tie. There are much better fishing rat patterns out there. This one looks nice I agree😁
Loved it! Subbed, hopefully I'll get to put this video to use some time great job!
Excellent work, greetings
Appreciated Hernan, greetings to you too
And for a sinking version (for winter), how to add ballast with all this bucktail ?? thank you
Just replace the deer with rabbit. More a show fly this one and a bit of fun
@@paul_monaghan thank you very much for your reply :)
Ou My GAWD !! Love it
Great rat, the size of one from NYC( NEW YORK CITY)🤣🤣🤣

Try some weight on the hook to keel them. This hooks used for this fly were a little light. Ahrex PR320 probably would have been better as heavier.
