@@arockfromspace I think some of the enemies are actually pre-rendered sprites. Especially noticeable are the ones with the shiny texture mapping. I don’t think the Namco System 21 was natively capable of such effects, so they are likely pre-rendered sprites.
18:12 This area is REALLY rough, not only do you have a nasty onslaught of boards and annoying foes to survive for a while, but you also have the Garu-Andor Genesis to deal with at the end, and to make matters worse, if you die you have to go back to the start of that spinning board sector again! Not to mention that there is a time limit to the Garu-Andor Genesis fight, in which case, after too much time has passed, it pelts you with a shower of rayram lasers!
Beating that sucker in Wii, I confirm It's a nightmare Btw, to defeat andor genesis, it seems that you need to destroy all of it's part, not just the 4 prongs near the middle core, but all 8 and the middle core
@@speedymatt1236 Just finished, Important detail: USE YOUR ZAPPER WITH GARU-ANDOR GENESIS. I thought you could only damage it with your blaster, like the rest of Xevious games, but in this title you can actually damage it with the zapper, thanks to the Laserdisc, I managed to beat it thanks to that information. Overall, good game, but last part is harrrrrd
Also I found out something, this game is the only true sequel to Xevious. Xevoius takes place in 2012, and Solvalou place three years later in 2015. Any other game in the Xevious franchise is either a remake or side story.
One of the spaceships that appeared in this game were featured as a customisation item exclusive to Jack (5) in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (TK5: DR) on both PSP and PS3, likewise given that the Tekken series is one of Bandai Namco's main franchises meant that contents found in other Namco games are were placed in since not only they're both made by that company, for example in T5/DR Anna Williams - which will later work along with Jack (6), Bruce Irvin and Kazuya Mishima in Tekken 6 - has the hairstyle of Isabella Valentine (Ivy) from the Soul series as her (Anna's) custom item due to the fact Anna is Irish (which neighbours Britain) and Namco guys portrayed her and Nina as glitzed-up exotics... (Mainly because Ireland is as small as the UK means they're generalised instead as countries having exotic women due to their accents, skin tone and others.)
I gotta say they did a bang-up job making the objects and FMV indistinguishable.
what FMV?

@@Butterstix2014 yeah, i know this one.

its WAY past 2012, Tech isnt as savy
@@storkwerkspoorfan1713 ......I think Kelvin was referring to the universe of Xevious, but I get what you’re saying.

2:10 the beginning is lit
i never relized how simalar solvalou and starblade looked for a long time
well they both run of the c68 qnd c67 driver tho
They share a lot of the same staff.
19:20 here she comes
30:19 that thing looks cool
This game look really good.
Is that like Starfox or Space Harrier?
Yeah pretty much just no barrel roll
Playing this on original hardware is really something different
Have you had a chance to play an actual cab?
Ex Zodiac is cool
Epilepsy warning.
Is this an arcade cabinet, a laseractive game or what? Edit: Apparently a video of the game, not a game in and of itself. Bummer
If only it worked on mame
yeah, its always crashes after the first boza logram on that hill
i have no fucking idea why the derotas and boza lograms shoot projectiles in the air when your not near them
1:01 is that the tri=force from the legend of Zelda?
That shape is everywhere in Japan and is nothing Zelda related. Originally it is the emblem of a family in Japan
@@CousinHubertRetrogaming i know but the shape just caught my eye of attention...
