You know, I never really understood why people worried about "kill stealing" to the point that they feel they need to apologize for it. I mean sure, it's nice to have the kill pop up on your screen and be credited under your name and all, but what really matters is that you won the fight, isn't it? Wouldn't you rather ensure the kill is secured, as opposed to risking that the enemy somehow survives?
Maybe I'm biased by my experience from back on Perfect World. It was very much a game where if you wanted to kill anyone - even in small scale PvP - you and your teammates all had to focus on the same target to deal damage fast enough. "Assist Attacking" is what we called it. It was less of a nice-to-have, and more of a needed-to-win. Attacking together was skill expression in and of itself. So no one really cared about "kill stealing" or their KDR. If anything, you would've wanted to apologize for not "kill stealing".
I guess BDO is different though. Shotcalls and assists are undeniably crucial in large scale, yet in small scale skirmishes it doesn't feel quite the same. Here, we have a meta where people can die quickly to any solo player, we don't have any indication of target selection, and fights are a lot faster and more chaotic. Often times, we have to take advantage of opportunities as they happen on the fly, instead of planning them out. It was very dissimilar to Perfect World's much more methodical shotcalls where we knew exactly who were were going to target, what we were going to hit them with, and when all of that is going to happen. And so for the longest time, we struggled with our Ninja & Ranger composition on BDO which used to work so well back on Perfect World. Eventually exhausting all ideas, group PvP simply became solo play for me, and the rest became the video "Alone."
Yet, despite Ninja being a solo class conceptually, I didn't roll Ninja to play by myself. My friends were the reason I even started playing BDO in the first place, and they are the reason I continue to play today. With recent events in "Rekindling", maybe there is hope for us to find our synergy again. Maybe, it will turn out different from before. Maybe this time, we'll be okay.

@@All_Luck_No_Skillz It's understandable. I just hope you will continue doing them and not take ez way for making siege or RBF videos. It may be only me, but they all looks the same: Same locations, same moves (invis, go in swarm of enemies and just use skills to kill them, and that's how whole video going). Open world videos like in Arsha or other channels is way more interesting to watch.

Glad you liked the video! I feel like the existing ninja guides from yelo, blockjump, faso pretty much covers what I would want to say as far as movement and combo goes, so I'd recommend you look at those first. I don't really enjoy making guides that much since I rely mostly on muscle memory and intuition in combat, which makes it hard for me to put what I do into words. So I probably won't make a guide on this topic since I don't really have anything new to add to the existing guides at the moment.

Completely understand tho, I play many fighting games, Tekken/Soul Caliber main , they're alot about reading your opponents, muscle memory, reacting fast, giving fake looks before punishing and understanding neutral game. Just the feel of the fight, knowing when to give and when to go, what moves to use and general fight IQ. which you get from experience. Tryna study the greats while I gear up to start PvP at decent GS . So when I start pvpin to get some hands on experience vs other classes and understanding when to use what. that's true. the other day i had a guild war, it was like 4 vs 10 or 20 people, we were all on AP set and we couldn't do anything because there wasn't enough space. all we needed was our striker to go DP for the tides to change. As he did, he created room for the damage dealers to wipe the whole guild.

@@user-ql7qs2eq1p In the current meta, the ability for Succession to SA trade and constantly apply damage is just much stronger than Awakening where you have to first get a CC. Awakening is only good when you have low DP right now because you have an extra and can FG on demand. But in end game gear situations Succession performs better in the current meta imo.

@@Zeus-ig3ru my succession gear was 281 AP / 304 DP. The problem with BDO is that even a 50-100 GS difference is huge, so I'm still at a massive disadvantage against people with 650-700 GS which I frequently run into. They are able to survive a full 2 CC combo and then turn around and kill me in 2-3 skills through Super Armor even if they don't CC me. I felt like the only way to win against those types of players was to avoid damage completely, which is only possible with Awakening since Succession relied too heavily on Super Armor for survival. Once I get full PEN Armor + Kutum I think I will try Succession again.

You can rotate your camera without rotating your character. I believe the default keybind is the middle mouse button. (You need to hold down the button the entire time.)

For me personally? I'm going with Awakening right now because I feel I lack the DP for Succession. I think I will switch to Succession eventually once I reach end game gear though.

Gonna depend on what you consider fun, because there are different format of PvP, and not everyone considers them equal.
On one hand, you can be a 1v1 only player who only cares about fighting other skilled players. In that case, you barely need any time or gear, because everyone can make something called Trial Characters. These characters all have the same gear, with the only exception being Adventure Logs which are fairly easy to complete if you follow the guides. Other people who also care about skill will be willing to swap to their own Trial Character, so you can fight on equal grounds right off the bat. If someone isn't willing to gear match you this way, then they probably aren't someone you'd be interested in fighting anyway.
On the other hand, you can do T1 Node War which has a gear cap that you can reach in about 3 months of playing a few hours daily. You can also have open world PvP and GvGs as long as you pick your fights and only fight people in grind spots around your gear level. You'll probably start off only being able to fight new players in one or two spots, but as you get more gear, you can slowly progress to grind spots with higher gear score. If someone with significantly more gear comes along, you'll just have to be willing to leave.
However, if you want to be able to fight absolutely everyone in the game, and do popular non-gear capped activities like siege, T2-T4 Node War, or RBF, then you're in for a bit of a tough time. In the current meta, anyone with 50+ gear score over you has a huge advantage, and 100+ gear score is pretty much impossible to kill. Since the max gear score that people have achieved is 700 right now, you'll probably need around 650 gear score which can take 1-2 years of hardcore playing, or an equivalent amount of P2W.
Now that seasons are a thing, it could potentially be viable to treat seasons sort of like fresh start servers, where you make a new character every season and PvP on season Arsha only. Seasonal servers have max gear that are designed to be achievable in 3 months of playing a few hours daily, which is much better than 1-2 years. But since seasons are still relatively new, this is just speculation.
For me, I kind of fall in the second option right now where I can fight a lot of people with my 600 gear score, but still can't fight the absolute most geared guilds like Snake.

Most similar to Ninja in terms of 1vX ability would probably be Kunoichi or Sorceress, but Tamer, Warrior, or Lahn could also be worth looking into if you don't like those 2 classes.

@@khalidalmezini4107 160-180 in 1v1/small skirmishes, 120-160 in small to medium GvGs, less than 70 in large fights like 100-man T4s. Also, in some areas like Bloodwolves, I can't get more than 140 FPS regardless of how many people I'm fighting - could be because of poor optimization.

Why did you choose DR rather than evasion? I'm going to copy the gear but I want to know the advantages of dr over evasion
Other players have calculated that evasion only starts to become better than DR at 650+ Evasion, which requires PEN gear. Before that it is better to go DR.

@@cya2easy188 most people use corrupted crystals. But honestly I can't say I notice a significant difference. Maybe that's just me.
I main ninja awakening for 2 years, now i had to quit :(, so nerfed, not in the meta... when you reach more than 650gs can't play non meta classes sadly

Any advice for fighting multiple people as a ninja?
Hmm, that's a tough one since I'm not the best at it myself, and I'm even worse at explaining how I fight 😅 The way I see it, it's all about correctly identifying who is the priority target. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so it's better to kill the most vulnerable member of the group first and reduce the numbers, as opposed to trying to take on the entire group at the same time. Getting a multi-CC is always nice if the opportunity arise, but it's not the main thing I go for. The most vulnerable member isn't always about skill and gear however, it's something that's dynamically changing as the fight progress based of a variety of factors. A key factor though, is how fast the other members of the group can peel for your target. If someone is slightly out of position, then that could immediately make them the new priority target. The way I evaluate who's vulnerable is completely based on intuition and muscle memory though, so I don't really know how to put it into words. I feel like it's just something you have to develop a game sense for by reviewing footage of yourself or watching other people fight. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Damn shame I play this on console, currently gearing up a hashi for pvp.
I’m pretty sure the kill stealing mentality is reinforced by the fact that war scores are shown in the guild window, from what I’ve seen winning or losing a war affects people’s mental a lot. So when a loss occurs in node ward people often go to the score sheet, and they just attribute the people with the highest kills as those who impacted the war the most while those with little kills are next to useless. So it causes a linkage if kills equating to the value of a player.
It's kind of bad for people to associate kills with impact in the war though imo, since there's so many things that can net you kills but are actually negative for the war - e.g. going for kills instead of objectives, chasing 1 person by yourself, staying back to frag when the shotcaller say to push, etc. Meanwhile other things that are positive for the war don't get counted - e.g. CCing a group of people but someone else gets the last hit, healing/PAing at the right time, damage dealt to objectives, etc. The developers really need to implement a more modern scoreboard that tracks things like assists, damage dealt, hp healed, imo.

You could get 20% crit from fatal blow add-on aswell.

Yeah, but I feel like Pearl Abyss is pushing the game in a direction where SA trading is becoming much stronger than CCing and comboing. I think Succession might be the way to go end game right now.

I really liked how the game looked in Remastered when I first started playing, and no one told me that FPS affected your attack speed back then. And at this point, I'm kinda in too deep to switch away xD

@@someonesomeone529 I mean it probably will, because in poorly optimized places like Bloodwolves my FPS can drop down to 120 in combat, which causes me to lose the attack speed bonus 180+ fps provides. Consistently getting high attack speed is going to be much better than randomly getting high attack speed only some of the times.

Awakening is stronger for me right now because I have more outplay potential against 300 AP players since Awakening engages are Iframe and FG, whereas Succession engages are mostly SA. With Succession I just die trying to engage. But once I have endgame gear and won't die through SA as much, then I think Succession will be stronger.
