  • The Clipper is a common butterfly found in Southeast Asia and New Guinea. It varies in color from shades of bright blue-green to brown. The name clipper comes from the white sail-like patches on its wings which are translucent and remind one of the sails of Clipper ships from days of yore. They have red-brown spines.
They are found in forests and rainforests and are very fast fliers. They enjoy basking in the sun. They can sometimes be observed near streams or high up in the rainforest canopy.
They like lantana flowers, also Adenia palmata and Tinospora cordifolia. Wingspan 10cm (4 inches).
