Thanks Mr. Trost for such wonderful insights. I am an MBA grad who is appearing in various public sector exams for HR officer post in India. It's been about 5-6 months since I finished college. Your earlier lectures and these new videos are keeping me on track as I am more of a listener than a reader. And this series is giving unique insights considering how small HR is. Cheers!

I was a furniture executive for nearly 30 years. Most HR I encountered were very good at telling staff they are now 'independent contractors' ....with no health benefits and work hours 'all over the ball park'. They also were great at telling legions of workers their jobs have been 'out sourced' or sent off-shore (they really excelled at that as they walked people out to their cars). No longer employed in full-time jobs , w/o benefits, workers get caught between declining purchasing power and soring health care costs. Many workers additionally suffer under a global 'wage race to the bottom' as corporations seek the low cost supplier (wherever they may be off shore). Where jobs vanish and workers are jettisoned HR will be in the vanguard. This is the 'dark side' of this position....if this is your career selection 'buyer beware'.
