As the Vermindoom rips through the fabric of reality, the Skaven descend upon the Mortal Realms in a horde of chittering fangs and the whirring of unstable technologies.
But in the heartlands of the Realm of Beasts, a Warband of Ironjawz has roared forth to meet this skittering tide with jagged metal and unbridled violence. And with the fabled Grey Seer Thanquol rumoured to be at the head of this influx of the rat-things, the promise of a mighty champion to slay is too much to resist for the Fist of Gork himself.
Greenskins and Ratmen now meet in the fields of Ghur, but will it be eldritch weaponry and rabid hordes, or ferocity and martial brutality, that secure victory in this corner of the Mortal Realms?

You can still reroll a charge after seeing the initial roll. Looks more closely to the ability using sequence, you declare reaction after the declare step, and the roll for charge is in that step.
Yes someone else pointed this out to me over OnDemand. Good to know for next time, the new layout of rules is a big departure from the usual GW style I need to approach it more carefully for the time being 😅

with regard to the all out attack for the shooting, im not sure you can do that with covering fire as that would be issuing multiple commands to the same unit in the same phase.

From just looking at models and some rules the Flesh-Eaters are prolly my favorite, in close contest with Gloomspite and Skaven. Would be really cool to see a proper battlereport with them.

FWIW - Only 1 command per unit per phase so you wouldn’t be able to issue all out attack to a unit that has received the covering fire command ability would not be able to receive all out attack
You can still use forward to victory after roll because of sequence/timing with declare step :)

@@thepastrychef8014 Yeah in itself it doesn't really do anything. But it is a keyword for the purposes of interactions with some units warscrolls abiliites.
I believe the +1 to hit and wound Vs your opponents generals regiment is to cause some counter play to one drop regiments/battalions that became the meta at the end of 3rd.
You can build a one drop and get to pick who goes first... But you take that negative. Or you put very little in the generals regiment and have a multiple drop.
A fair point, but it definitely feels like an oversight to have it work vs so much stuff and at ranged as well

My god the rats just keep coming! The Ironjawz just couldn't cleave through them fast enough before the skryre firepower tore them apart. Sad we didn't get to see the Ratling Warpblaster on the field yet, but an amazing batrep nontheless! Excited for more AoS

I think my buggest issue with the seasonal rules are that theyre launching with the edition. Id prefer that we had sometime with the new rules unfettered by seasonal rules.

1:12:38 You didn't do it anyway but you can't redeploy and covering fire because redeploy has the run keyword, and you can't run and shoot. At least that's how I understand it anyway.

great report! I dont share your negativity about the season rules. As someone who played a lot of 3e, they look very neat.
I've never really got on with the season rules if I'm totally honest. They've always felt tacked on for the sake of it, and never really felt balanced, and this is more of the same, in my opinion at least. Good thing is people can play how they like, so if you're liking the sound of them then that's a win too 🙂
@@thepastrychef8014 I like that the seasons provide a shakeup for not only for the overall game but even just within factions.
@@thepastrychef8014 i agree. never a fan of the season rules. It seemed like they were trying to bring a narrative aspect to progress the story, but on the tabletop was just annoying.
@@jb87rell Unfortunately you end up with merciless blizzard which shouldn't have ever made it past testing, especially when you're also gaining additional casting die. GWs have a hard time keeping factions in balance without adding disruptive variables on a seasonal basis.

Generally warscrolls we've seen have condensed weapon options down to a single profile this edition!

So from the current rumours, they were true for now. Ardboyz are : 2w 4" move 3+ save and they've got 1 attack profile : 2att 4+ 3+ -1 dmg 1 (anti-charge -1 rend).

@21:06 No idea what you're talking about, it's super easy to grok and gets rid of all the unnecessary "roll a d3 to see if you roll another d3". Speeds up and streamlines abilities like that.
It takes less than 4 seconds to roll a dice and read it, you're saving 4 seconds, cry more
Plenty of others have said its clunky, and once you've done it a few times it's easy enough. Just feels arbitrary to say it's to save time, may has well have just said "on a 3+, do 2 Mortal Wounds" every time that rule comes up 🤷♂️

An emergency patch for Priority Targets would be to only give +1 to hit and wound for melee attacks on the charge. Like the other Honor Guard ability works

Skaven look like such a npe to fight against. They literally do everything you hate to fight against. Teleport away, heal every turn, recur units. I am happy for rat players but not at all looking forward to fighting them.

@@tabletoptactics In terms of all quality indicators, - AoS community is the best of all that Games Workshop games had.
Unfortunately, the AoS community is too complacent and passive at the same time: they very much support any promotion of their favorite systems and world - in their hearts, but often forget about such little things as put the Like, subscribe, and so on....
Interesting to hear, thanks for the input. The other important factor is actually volume - how many people are watching it? Actually just how big is the viewing audience for Sigmar content? Is it growing, or diminishing? These are the sorts of factors we have to look at when making videos for our audience :)
@@tabletoptactics I can testify that many of my friends who like the Age of Sigmar and Warhammer generally watch videos on third-sided sites, forums and social networks via the link, but do not to go to TH-cam directly.
Really excited to see more AoS content! Personally I don't think Honour Guard bonuses will be too strong in most games. It could be strong in tailored tournament lists, but I don't think ye should stop using it in your games.
