Has anyone thought about how Tex kicked Maine, Wyoming, and York's asses, but once Maine and Wash team up, she gets wrecked? Is it the added abilities on the Meta or is it just that Wash is badass?
Owen Brennan Wash got the lucky shot on her while she tried to run. Up until that point, she was kicking their asses thoroughly. To be fair though, meta had none of his AI for this fight, and neither did Wash. Still, if Wash hadn't shot her, Tex would have defeated them both handily.
Agreed. Wash may be improbably good with his BR and a pragmatic fighter, and the Meta may be the Meta, but they still probably wouldn't have won if Tex's nature didn't cause her to make mistakes.
I like to think that some part of Maine was happy to die. So he couldn't be manipulated and tortured into hurting his old allies/friends/companions. Or allindompanions.
People complain at the theories that Maine survived that fall, but I think you should remember that in the span of around 20 minutes: He got shot in the throat around 7 times. He got sniped in the chest. He fell onto the highway and got hit by a pretty big truck. He was launched OFF of the highway by previously mentioned big truck. That was just 1 episode, other things he survived include: Wash throwing a knife into his chest. Tex stabbing into his back with a similar knife. Being stabbed in the chest by Tucker Extreme physical and mental stress from all of those AI Church somehow shooting him in the leg Generally getting his ass kicked by Tex a few times. Being paralysed by Doc (Which is still funny to me) So what makes you think he definately didn't survive this fall? He managed not to die after Carolina kicked him out of that skyscraper. Then again, in the RvB12 after credits there was a show of JUST his armour, he's probably dead in the cold without that. And hell, we already have new villains anyway.
+RockySalad Yea but see he had the healing factor in the heist epipsodes as for surving the fall out of window you see him jump onto a ledge and start causing pure hell. The healing ability of his suit was running the moment he took the sniper shot to the chest but here too much happened too quickly for the healer to save him so he drowns like a boss
I think it's kind of cruel for the Freelancers to not call Maine by his agent callsign. It makes sense for them to call him that when he was possessed by the AI's since Meta was the name Sigma chose. After he lost those AI, I would think that his former friends wouldn't continue to attach that name to him. He didn't exactly choose to become the Meta.
Carolina in season 13 explains that she refused to associate Maine and the Meta as the same person because they really aren't. The other Freelancers are implied to have had a similar approach, as calling someone who indiscriminately kills like an animal the same person who once was willing to take a sniper round to the chest protect his friends the same name would have been an insult to the man who was once Maine. Even the Counselor didn't consider them to be the same person. It would be much crueler to have called the Meta by his old name, as they all understood that Maine was turned into the Meta without his choice so they consider the Meta as a monster who effectively stole Maine's body (which, in hindsight, that's exactly what the Meta was).
Tex was more skilled and had home field advantage. Maine could just survive the things that Tex threw at him and was physically tougher and stronger. Once Tex had become exhausted from damage Maine just finished her off.
Well, he also had a teammate lol. It was clear tex could take either without much issue, but time spent on one person meant the other could recover and fight again.
